BWI - Portalocity Lounge [Friday Morning]

Chloe got off her flight from New York and followed the signs to the lounge. She dumped the duffle bag of clothes that Andrew had hastily purchased on the floor and slumped into one of the uncomfortable airport chairs.

She was still against this plan but she realized on the flight that sulking wouldn't make it any better so she was going to put on a brave face and make the most of it.

"... okay," Tyler said, a trace of doubt in his tone. "Let me guess, you're from one of the Tony Stark worlds, and you can -- what's your weird thing?"

They all had something weird. Unless they were Pepper Potts.

"Know stuff," she said with a nod. "And yes, one of those Tony Stark worlds. Honestly I think you got the funnest one of the bunch."

"See, you keep saying you know stuff," Tyler ventured. "That's not really a power. I know stuff. Everybody does."

"... why the funnest?"

"Because he's not being chased all over the planet and being blamed for alien invasions," Layla replied. "And my power is sooooo a power. It's very useful."

"Oh, are you from one of the places where he quits drinking and goes evil?" Tyler asked brightly. "And okay, what do you know about me that's useful?"

"Oh, plenty. You know. Stuff," Layla replied cheerfully. "Like the whole thing where you were kicked out of school and then came back to teach."

"Lots of people know that," Tyler said cheerfully. "Is this some blackmail thing?"

"Blackmail?" Layla asked. "Oh no. I was just showing you a little bit of what I know. See? Useful."

Tyler snorted. "I'll keep an eye on you," he decided.

"That's a good idea," Layla said hiding a grin. "And I'll probably be doing the same."

Tyler really, really should have let it go at that, but sometimes his mouth was faster then his brain, so ... "Good. You and Veronica Mars can start the we-don't-trust-Durden club."

"I didn't say I didn't trust you," Layla smirked. "Just that I'd be keeping an eye on you."

"You also didn't say you do trust me," Tyler argued.

"Should I?" she teased

"You know stuff," Tyler grinned. "You'll figure it out."
