The Danger Shop was set up like a runway in Milan. There were lights! There was noise! There were stick figures with big poofy lips complaining as their hair was put up into ridiculous coifs backstage with the students!

"Hello, darlings," Edna said, wheeling the rack of costumes (save one, naturally) into the room. "You have all proven to be...mostly adequate...these last few weeks in terms of creativity and not being blown up. Today you will demonstrate the lines and flow of my beautiful costumes!" Her hands flew up over her head.

"...which you also helped to design, et cetera, et cetera," she finally added. "Get changed, listen for the music and then strut, darlings! Try not to trip over things and end up on Youtube." She pointed at Shilo. "And you. You are very lucky not to be shot full of lasers yesterday. Detention for breaking into my workshop!"

With that she disappeared through the curtain to join the audience.

Francine really couldn't pull off the running-in-slow-motion-without-a-bra-show look. Because seriously. And also because she'd have to get down on one knee to strike the right pose and she didn't trust herself not to somehow trip and fall out of her costume.

So she settled for putting her hands on her hips and grinning cheesily in her best impersonation of Really Strong Guy Who Can Fly's Blonde Cousin's AU Clone With The Inexplicably Bigger Boobs.

See? Francine was totally getting into it! Probably because it was so awesome being in a fashion show and dressed in a battle costume!

And no evil monkeys were showing up to cause trouble!

Momoko relaxed her pose and linked an arm through Francine's, pointing with the other hand. Heroically, of course. "Right! Now. To the end of the runway and we pose and do our battle cry! Let's go!"

"I don't think I can remember that whole battle cry," Francine said under her breath as she walked. Carefully. Because there might be a stray costume-eating dust-mite hiding where you least expected it.

"You can't not remember the battle cry." Air was breathable. Water was wet. Cake was delicious. Superheroes always remember their battle cry. "You just pose, say your part of it and I say mine, then we say each say our name!"

"Okay!" She could do that! "Wait, which part of it's mine?"

Thinking about the question meant Momoko's next step was a bit wobbly. She blamed the obviously uneven floor and not at all the unfamiliar but totally cute boots.

"You can have the start, if you want. Since it's your first time. Besides, Red should obviously have the bigger line."

No, no, no wobbly! Wobbly meant falling and falling meant... some sort of badness that ended in naked. Somehow. Francine got a firmer grip on her arm. "You can totally have the bigger line. Heck, you can have all the lines and I'll just say the thing about cake at the end."

Momoko somehow stayed upright, although she had no idea that falling meant you ended up naked... She just didn't want to look bad in front of everyone and fail the class.

Or end up on youtube.

"You saying the cake part is okay, but you at least have to say 'Fighting Lovelies', too!" It's important to get the little hero things right, or the big hero things just fall right apart!

"But--" But she'd feel like a dork calling herself lovely. Sigh. Maybe it was like Ino's thing with pretending you were brave until you really were. Francine -- Sugar Shock, that is, squared her shoulders and nodded. "Okay."

It was totally like that!

"Right!" Yay! Momoko added a bigger, happier bounce to her last few steps and managed to not fall down only by the virtue of having a firm grip on Francine. "Ready, then?"

Yeeh, Francine would be trying to avoid bouncing. She'd fail, but she'd try. "Ready." COUGH. "Ready!"

But bouncing is good for the sole soul!

Momoko grinned and stopped dead in her tracks. It was time! She let go of Francine and took a step to the side, waving her arms in a choppy but totally heroic manner before striking her earlier pose again. "Alright! Let's go!"

Which is the start of every good hero team battle cry and sound-off, don't you know.

Francine saluted and dropped her hands to her hips, back to back with Momoko. "Fighting Lovelies!"

Yuuup, dork. Doooooooork. Maybe if she pictured the audience nak-- no.

Momoko was far from feeling like a dork. Sure it was just on a stage, but she was in her (third) battle costume, posing with another superhero, about to utter their team's battle theme! Okay, so maybe they weren't really teammates, but it felt totally good and familiar and right to do this.

"Red and Pink! For Justice... Happiness... Love!"

"And cupcakes!" That part of it, Francine could manage. Except for how she got it wrong. But. Cupcakes!

PERFECT! Momoko grinned! Francine was a natural! Exit, stage left, and maybe there would be glomping... And possibly a brief demonstration for Francine on the proper times and ways to insert a V-sign or a salute into heroic poses. Advanced stuff, yeah, but Momoko was sure Francine could handle it.
