Library [06/17]

Sam made it to the library right on time today, coffee firmly in hand to fight any lingering sleepiness. He hadn't really been staying up later with fewer classes to attend; he was just a lot more active now than he had been before the summer started.

...because of the warm weather, of course!

"Pie always helps," Dean declared. "And nothing was going on, just went out for drinks with Claire."

"Just drinks?" Sam asked, giving Dean a curious look.

"Hey, I know how you get around girls," Sam said. "I just wanted to double check. Especially since it's Claire, even though I'm glad the two of you are getting along."

"I don't do anything with girls that isn't fully informed and consentual," Dean said.

"Hey, I didn't say she wouldn't consent. I was just wondering if you did anything she'd have to consent to," Sam said. "Peter's very protective."

"If I did, it would be because she consented at which point, it's not any of Peter's business unless I hurt her which, dude, you seriously think I'd do?" Dean asked with a wounded expression.

"Of course you wouldn't hurt her," Sam said. "But you make it your business when I go out with people. Why wouldn't it be Peter's business if you hooked up with Claire?"

"Because he's dating you and I haven't given him a hard time about it?" Dean suggested.

"You've never given Peter a hard time?" Sam asked, genuinely curious, because he wasn't entirely certain himself.

"Oh," Sam said simply. "Well, he might give you a hard time if you pursue anything with Claire. I don't think he'll meant it though, because he knows you're as trustworthy as I do."

"Damn straight I'm trustworthy," Dean grumbled, sticking his fork a little more viciously into his pie.

"You're the one who's all 'I know what you're like with girls,'" Dean grumbled some more.

"I meant you're quick to act once you know they like you, which they always do," Sam said. "At least, that's how it seems."

"I am pretty likeable," Dean admitted. "But I've never pressured anyone into doing anything they didn't want to."
