Library [06/17]

Sam made it to the library right on time today, coffee firmly in hand to fight any lingering sleepiness. He hadn't really been staying up later with fewer classes to attend; he was just a lot more active now than he had been before the summer started.

...because of the warm weather, of course!

Still in cleaning mode, Sam went through the stacks and dusted the high places that only he could reach safely, so none of the girls would have to do it if they ever got the inclination to clean as well.

"Hey," Sam said brightly. "Long time, no see."

"Forever," Peter agreed. "You've gotta cut that out."

"And what, drag you with me first thing in the morning?" Sam asked. "You look too comfortable in bed for me to do that to you."

"You own enough books," Peter said. "Tell people our room is the library."

"Then I'd have to give my books out," Sam said with a pout. "People might hurt them or not bring them back."

If Sam was going to pout like that then Peter had to give him a comforting hug. "It's okay. You don't have to give your books away."

It was hard to keep up the pout with a hug like that. "You'll just have to keep visiting me. It all works out that way."

"What kind of a boyfriend would I be if I let you starve?" Sam asked, taking a long sip of his iced coffee. "A pretty crappy one, that's for sure."

"Just like if I let you get through the day without a sugar rush," Peter agreed.

"Or getting more caffeine. I might fall asleep on the way back to our room otherwise," Sam said, laughing.

"Can't have that," Peter said. "Then I'd never see you again. Totally unacceptable."

"Either that or you'd have to send out a search party," Sam said. "That could get complicated, and messy."

"That's where Scout comes in handy," Peter said.

Sam laughed. "I don't know if he's quite the search and rescue dog he thinks he is," he said. "At least he's got being a guard dog down."

"He'd find you," Peter said, with confidence. "I'd tell him you had the food."

"Oh, in that case, that might actually work." Sam smiled softly. "I think he's going to miss you as much as I will."

"You think we could manage that? A never ending summer?" Sam asked. "You'd have to start working on your time travel now."

"Damn," Peter said. "Here I thought work was over now that I graduated."
