Arts & Crafts [Period 1, 6-15]

There were bins of felt, yarn, googly eyes, and other accoutrements set out on the tables today, along with a couple of hot glue guns and, most worrying, a sewing machine. "Good morning, everyone," Steve said. "Today we're going to make finger puppets. Because they're fun. I've supplied several different patterns, so just pick whichever one you like and get started. If you need help with the sewing machine, ask me or one of your classmates. If you can't use a sewing machine but can manage needle and thread that's available, too. Alternately, you can glue the edges of the puppet together, but that can be messy." Less messy than stitching your fingers, though. "Have fun!"

Jennifer wasn't about to stitch her fingers. Since she was making something small, she felt the machine was a better idea than trying to hand small that delicately. So, she carefully worked on the pattern.

Ino was, actually, better at sewing by hand than by machine, and so she gave the machine a disdainful sniff before giggling and starting to work on her puppets.

Yes, puppets. Shush. These things could totally be used to amuse her.

Angela had done enough sewing (usually in the form of little modifications to her clothes) to know how to not stitch things to her fingers.

She may have been distracted by thoughts of her weekend, but she wasn't stupid enough to forget simple things like that as she started to hand sew her pieces of fabric together.

Claudia went racing to a sewing machine and began working on a series of puppets of people she knew.

The Zayne puppet was especially strange adorable.

Zack... didn't really trust himself with a needle and thread. So he was using and abusing the glue today, thank you very much.

His attempt at an improvised behemoth puppet was looking sadly like a boundfat puppet, however. Sigh.

Éowyn had plenty of experience with needle and thread, even though she'd never wanted it, but she was grateful for it now, because it made following the directions that much easier.

You need an icon of that uber-gay entrance of them in Young Avengers.

I think it's right after. Tony has his arms crossed there instead of around his BF's waist as they fly about in full view of the public.

Good god, the RPS there must have been rampant.

Until Deadpool sends a mass e-mail about it to the school. And is bludgeoned with a shield until he learns his lesson.

*jaw drops at icon*

I need to start reading Young Avengers more often, instead of just when they cross over with Runaways or something.
