When Sam and Peter had moved back into the dorms, it had taken a lot less discussion than Sam expected for them to decide to move both sets of their belongings into his room. Having Peter right there with him every night and every morning was nothing short of fabulous, but it definitely made things like getting up for the day a lot more difficult. Sam made it to the library on time, coffee and all, but for the first time in a long time, he might have actually looked like he wanted to be somewhere else.

Sam took some time to go through his e-mail, and poked around in the stacks with a list of books that needed to be checked for possible damage.

Sam had brownies to share for lunch today - the non-drugged kind, thank you very much.

Dean came in at the usual time with bags of food for both of them. "Are those the funny kind of brownies?" he asked spotting them. "Do I have to start giving you spot drug tests?"

"They're completely normal, I promise," Sam said. "Even if it would be kind of funny to watch you get high."

"Not as funny as you being high was," Dean informed him.

"I'm so glad I was able to provide you guys with unexpected entertainment," Sam teased. "I promise, I'd warn you if, for some reason, I ever got it into my head to go through that again and take you with me."

"Good. Because I want pictures."

"You should have taken some the first time around. I don't think I can survive being that hungry again."

Dean cracked up. "Dude, you with the munchies will never not be funny."

"You're starting to make me wish these brownies were drugged," Sam warned. "We'll see how funny you think it is when you have to deal with it."

Dean gave Sammy a look. "It's me. You think you'd even notice a difference in the amount I eat?"

"You might want pie even more than you already do. Can you imagine that?" Sam asked. "Scary."

"I don't think that's physically possible," Dean said.

"The poor people at the bakery, trying to fill your needs...you're right, it would be too dangerous," Sam said, shaking his head sadly.

"Yeah, probably a good thing you're the stoner in this family," Dean teased.

"You make it sound like there's a possibility I might ever get high again," Sam said, scowling.

"Hey, ya never know. I never would have pegged you for taking drugs the first time."

"I didn't know the brownies were drugged!" Sam said. "I didn't mean for it to happen!"

Karla had been intending on bringing her book back today. She hadn't intended on intruding on Sam and Dean's lunch while doing so. "Oops! Should I come back?" she asked.

"No, it's okay. I don't bother closing the library during lunch," Sam said, smiling. "Can I help you with something?"

She held up her copy of Macgruff.. "Looking to return this? And maybe take out another?"

"Awesome," Sam said. "Another play, or something entirely different? You've kind of got a lot of options."

"I think I shall read some more of Lord Shakespeare," she said. "I've been told he's written a lot."

"38 plays and 154 sonnets," Sam replied, before realizing how geeky he sounded. "Um, and a few other poems."

"Excellent! That should give me plenty of reading material, then." Karla didn't mind Sam's geekiness. Especially since it was useful to her.

"You certainly have a lot to choose from. Do you want one that's funny? Or sad? Or a little historical?"

"Ooh, a history would be good," she said.

"Those are some of my favorites too. They're the most bloody and interesting," Sam said with a laugh.

"And a much better way to learn about your people," Karla said with a grin.

"Well, you should keep in mind that Shakespeare took some creative liberties for the sake of storytelling," Sam said, leading her back to the right section. "But for the most part, yeah, you can learn a lot about the way our people ruled in the past, especially if you're still trying to understand kings and patriarchies."

Karla chuckled. "Don't worry, Kaeleer and this place are enough alike that I doubted anything written as a theatrical would be completely trustworthy as a source."

"If you really want to know more, I can always get you some newspapers," Sam said. "Some of them are more reliable than others, and they'd be a lot better to learn from."

"And I heard that once I learn computers the Internettings have some information, too."

"Oh, the Internet has more information than all the books here combined," Sam said. "But you're twice as likely to find something that's not right. It's all about balance."

Karla grabbed ~~the best play ever~~ a play at random. "~~meta for~~Richard III? Is that any good?"

Yes.

Sam glanced at the title and grinned. "Oh, yeah, it's really ~~really really~~ good," he said. "Definitely one of the more dramatic and theatrical plays."

~~Really really~~

"Great!" she grinned, "I'll borrow this one, then. ~~My mun~~ I love drama!"

Sam was back at the desk with an undamaged book, quietly reading and wondering if he could get away with putting his feet up on the desk.

No, the OCD didn't shrink, I don't know what you're talking about...
