Spy Games, Class 3, Monday period 5

When the class filed in, they didn't find Sarah waiting for them, but a rather familiar looking priest.

"Hello class," he greeted them. "Your teacher couldn't be here today so she asked me to fill in for her. I'm Father Winchester.

"Our sermon today is on disguises. Yeah, sure you can get a lot of information by the breaking and entering route, but sometimes you're going to have to interact with people. Sometimes you're going to want to blend in, get them to not notice you. Other times you're going to want to get them to trust you, tell you things they might not ordinarily do so. Disguises are an important tool in both situations.

"Say you need to check some medical records -- you're going to have a lot better chance of getting to them without incident if you dress like you belong, some scrubs or a white coat and suddenly youre an orderly or a doctor and no one's looking at you twice or questioning why you're roaming the halls or going into that office.

"Or say someone's died and you think there's something hinky about it. The family's in mourning, they're not going to want to talk to just any Joe Blow about the details." Dean put on his most pious expression. "But a priest paying a courtesy call to pay his respects and offer his condolences, now that's someone they'll feel comfortable talking about the gory details to."

Dean grinned at them. "Every situation is going to be different, but with a little ingenuity you can come up with a disguise to fit. Need to get into a place and have some uninterrupted time there? How about posing as exterminators that are spraying for something that requires an empty house? All you need is to think outside the box."

He gestured to a set of racks full of all sorts of clothing and boxes of accessories. "Over there is a broad selection of things you can use to create a disguise. What I want you to do is to not only put together a disguise but come up with a senario where that particular disguise would be useful. Extra points given for originality."

She tapped her fingers idly, not bothering with notes, and reviewed what she thought of disguises.

It wasn't like this was hard, after all.

Liir had actually done this sort of thing before, as well as had it covered in a class or two. As such, he started working on something extensive to make sure he stretched his abilities.

Valentine grinned a little to herself as she listened, now realizing that, yes, she had seen Dean before she went flipping through Peyton's sketchbook, and it was here, and the priest outfit was an amusing, interesting choice, especially considering how if you wanted to be inconspicuous where she was from, going religious was so not the way to go.

Gwen paid very close attention to the lecture. She hadn't realised she might have a priest kink before this.

Admittedly this probably said more about the looks of the average Welsh priest than it did about Gwen.

Sam did his best to snicker quietly at Dean's outfit. Out of all the costumes they'd worn to get jobs done, there was something about Dean as a priest that made him crack up every time.

Ellie listened to the lecture and actually did take a few notes. She didn't know much about this sort of thing after all. It seemed like important information.

Passing himself off as someone else was new, but Griff didn't think it could be so hard, just wearing the clothes and playing the part.

Claire was highly amused by Father Winchester though her amusement didn't keep her from taking notes.

Alice was amused by the good Father's disguise, and wondering what sorts of disguises would be helpful.

Most of her ideas were far too silly to be helpful.

Emma tuned out about midway through the lecture. If she didn't feel like taking the direct route and just ripping the information she wanted out of someone's brain, she could always just make them think she was someone else. An actual disguise seemed rather silly.

Agnes already knew quite a lot about disguises -- or rather, the lack of them. It seemed that a little old lady in a plain black dress who looked as though she knew what she was doing could get in just about ANYWHERE. She'd no doubt that Nanny Ogg could walk into a monastery where women were FORBIDDEN, and within two days of doing the washing-up, they'd just assume she'd always been there.

But Agnes had a long way to go before she was a little old lady, so she took careful notes.

Karla would have been more amused if she'd known exactly what a priest was. The only priest she'd ever heard of was the High Priest of the Hourglass, and even though she didn't know what this world's priests did, she was willing to bet it differed from that.

Actually, the entire lecture was a bit confusing. Why try to dress up when you could be identified by your psychic scent?
