After the totes horrible fashion class (she was not blinding, thank you very much. She was quirky. Crazy old bat.), Claudia stomped into the library (no easy task in the turquoise stilettos she was rocking) and slumped behind the desk, where she planned to spend the day doodling terrible things dropping onto Ms. Mode's head.

Ha! That'll show her.

The library was open.

[OOC: And Claudia lost the OCD. It's probably under her pillow with a pound of Twizzlers and some pretzels.]

And Claudia just liked guys. Period. She hadn't been thirteen and throwing herself at a 22-year-teacher like some of her friends, Stacey, but she was still going to be a little boy-crazy.

"Well, Dr. Jones was the first one. He was kind of grumpy." Maybe he wouldn't have been if she hadn't been pestering him about his "real" name, but that was six of one and a half dozen of the other. "The other one is Tim Desmond, the storytelling teacher."

"Oh, I know Doctor Jones!" Claudia said. "He runs the library. He let me borrow his jacket once. Totally old guy cute."

"I guess so," Shilo replied. "He seems kind of... gruff though." As though the males she'd known in her time had been some kinds of pinnacles of masculine perfection. Riiiiiight.

"True," Claudia said. "Have you seen anyone else who's cute?"

"Well, there was that one guy in the fashion class. The blond guy?" Shilo smiled a little dreamily. "He was definitely cute. I don't know, though. I haven't really met a lot of the guys here yet, other than Merlin, and that was only because he's my big brother."

"You mean Arthur?" Claudia asked. "He's really a prince and everything, but kind of a jerk. He's across the hall from me when we aren't being all campy. But yeah, totes hot."

Shilo's eyes got big. "You mean an honest-to-God prince? Crown and kingdom and all that?"

"Yes!" Claudia said, eyes wide. "There are a few of them! Prince Edward has a totally cute jacket, too, and I think he's finally over his whole thing where he wanted to be engaged to some girl named Gazelle. Because, Lord, we are way too young for that."

"Whoa," Shilo said. "And yeah... I haven't even been on a date yet. Let alone engaged to someone already."

"Omigod, we have to fix that," Claudia said. "There are sooo many parties this weekend. We'll find you someone cute."

Matchmaking was one of Claudia's favorite things. Poor Shilo.

"O...kay," Shilo agreed, trying to sound (and feel) positive about the idea.

"Even if it's just to look at," Claudia said. "There is so much pretty. I mean, I have a boyfriend, but I haven't gone blind."

"I guess..?" Shilo said. "I just... I don't think anyone would be interested in me. I have... issues."

"Everyone on the island has issues," Claudia said with a small smile. "My roommate's from a different galaxy. We got invaded by zombies in the spring. And our fashion teacher is, like, three feet tall."

"Wait a minute. Zombies?" Shilo stared at Claudia. "Seriously?"

She wrinkled up her nose. "Seriously," she confirmed. "Completely terrifying. And smelly."

Shilo looked confused and grossed out. "And you still manage to think about boys?" she marveled. "Without constantly wondering what's going to threaten life as you know it?"

"Omigod, the first month I was here I almost had a breakdown," Claudia replied. "I was convinced everyone was on drugs. I had a green fuzzy frog talk to me. My roommate could move things around the room with his mind. You adjust, or try to outcrazy the crazy."

"Oh, Robin? I find him quite sweet," Shilo said. "I guess you're right..."

"He's fuzzy and green and looks like he should be on a children's tv program," Claudia said with a little shudder. "No. Just...no."

"I'm not saying I would seriously date him," Shilo replied. "I just think that he's quite nice."

Claudia smiled. "Good. If you wanted to date him, I might have to stage an intervention."

Shilo laughed a little. "At least, not romantically. If he asked me to be his date for a dance or something, I'd have a hard time turning him down," she admitted.

Yes, Shi is too nice for her own good.
