The last few weeks of Flight Club had been a little shaky and, for that, Gavin was going to do his best to try and make this one a little better. After all, his gremlin bite had mostly been forgotten due to the kids arrival. He could show his face without wanting to die.

"Welcome back," he greeted, nodding. "I hope everyone survived the weekend okay. My kid was kickass but a really bad troublemaker. Gets that from his other father."

He'd just leave his name out. John knew who he was.

"Anyway, today, we're going to be sticking with the kid theme," Gavin said because he wanted amusement. "We're all going to be driving landspeeders...and you're going to have four kids with you. Four crying, screaming, messy, restless kids in the back. Your job will be to drive the landspeeder while making sure the kids don't fall out, don't hurt each other and don't hurt you. You may laugh but children are a HUGE distraction and if you can deal with them, you'll be able to deal with just about any distraction thrown at you when you're flying. You can't throw the kids out of the speeder, either."

Not looking anyone specific, nope.

"Have fun."

Tahiri grinned at him. "Having spent plenty of time around your family, I've sort of noticed that, yes."

Ben ran his fingers through his hair. "Why talk when you can just go find something else to rescue, right?"

"Or something new to repair," Tahiri added, "or some new mess to get into and out of. Sometimes all three at once . . ."

"Especially if you're on the Falcon," Ben agreed.

"That's pretty much a guarantee, then!"

Ben pouted. "Jag got to fly her."

"Really?" It was a pretty safe bet that flying the Falcon wasn't anywhere on Tahiri's list of aspirations, but she she didn't have to ask why Ben was pouting. "Han let him?"

He nodded. "Uncle Han was busy with a different part of an operation, but still. He's so not interesting enough to fly the second coolest ship in the galaxy."

"Only the second?" Not much of a surprise that Tahiri was biased there.

"Mom's ship is better," Ben replied, nodding.

"Oh, well, I'll give you that," Tahiri said. Awfully gracious of her, really. "He didn't ding her up or anything, did he?"

"No," Ben said, looking a little disappointed. "He's an okay pilot."

Meaning exceptional but Ben didn't like him.

"He's really not your favorite person, is he?" Tahiri could be perceptive sometimes.

"He whined at me," Ben said. "He's a billion years older than me and I was the more mature person."

No, Jag wasn't a favorite.

The corners of Tahiri's mouth twitched. "That answers that question."

"And he called me middle aged," Ben griped.

"Hey," Tahiri said, scowling; she felt obligated to be a little offended on Ben's behalf, apparently.

"Exactly," Ben said. "Granted, Jaina going off to learn stuff from Boba Fett wasn't the most logical thing I'd ever heard of, but it wasn't like she'd consulted me about it. I didn't have time to listen to her boyfriend whining about it."

"I have the hardest time thinking of him as her boyfriend now," Tahiri realized, a split second before the rest sank in. "Boba Fett? As in that Boba Fett?" As if there was more than one.

Ben rolled his eyes and nodded. "And still obsessed with Uncle Han. You think he would've just sent a card or something by now."

"And she was training with him. There's no way that went over well with her dad," Tahiri said a touch dazedly. Everything in Ben's time was completely insane. She was sure it was now.

"Not particularly," Ben agreed.

Tahiri nodded slowly and looked down at her feet. "But it turned out to be useful training, didn't it." It wasn't a question.

Ben nodded. "And Fett was probably thrilled about the final showdown. No matter who came out alive, Uncle Han was going to be gutted."

"Ouch," Tahiri said after a long, uncertain silence. "Just . . . ouch."
