The last few weeks of Flight Club had been a little shaky and, for that, Gavin was going to do his best to try and make this one a little better. After all, his gremlin bite had mostly been forgotten due to the kids arrival. He could show his face without wanting to die.

"Welcome back," he greeted, nodding. "I hope everyone survived the weekend okay. My kid was kickass but a really bad troublemaker. Gets that from his other father."

He'd just leave his name out. John knew who he was.

"Anyway, today, we're going to be sticking with the kid theme," Gavin said because he wanted amusement. "We're all going to be driving landspeeders...and you're going to have four kids with you. Four crying, screaming, messy, restless kids in the back. Your job will be to drive the landspeeder while making sure the kids don't fall out, don't hurt each other and don't hurt you. You may laugh but children are a HUGE distraction and if you can deal with them, you'll be able to deal with just about any distraction thrown at you when you're flying. You can't throw the kids out of the speeder, either."

Not looking anyone specific, nope.

"Have fun."

"Not particularly," Ben agreed.

Tahiri nodded slowly and looked down at her feet. "But it turned out to be useful training, didn't it." It wasn't a question.

Ben nodded. "And Fett was probably thrilled about the final showdown. No matter who came out alive, Uncle Han was going to be gutted."

"Ouch," Tahiri said after a long, uncertain silence. "Just . . . ouch."

"Fett can't ever return to his homeplanet, though," Ben said with a little shrug. "Bet he doesn't care. He sold his emotions for credits decades ago."

"I have to admit I never really had all that much interest in the Mandalorians," Tahiri said, trying and not particularly succeeding at veering away from an increasingly uncomfortable topic.

~~snerk~~ "Me either," Ben said. "They aren't that badass."

~~Had to!~~ "Yeah. Um . . . I should probably go take my turn in the sim," Tahiri remarked. "Except I don't think I have the energy to deal with a speeder full of kids."

"Imagine what Granddad would do, then don't shoot one to warn the rest of them," Ben advised. "But the glare will work."

"Ugh. One kid was exhausting enough," Tahiri groaned. "I'm half picturing the speeder packed with miniature versions of the Wraiths."

"Yuck," Ben said. "If they get too bad, toss one over the side."

That is terrible advice, Ben.

Tahiri just gave him a Look.

Although it was kind of tempting.

"I was raised by a nanny droid," Ben offered. "I'm bad at this."

Tahiri bit her lip and didn't say anything about how she'd noticed, even if she wanted to. "Let's just see how well you do when it's your turn, then."

"I'm not sure I have the patience for this exercise," Ben admitted.

"Neither do I," Tahiri answered. "But I'm trying."

"I don't want to do something that will attract Granddad's attention," he admitted.

"Good point. Yesterday was bad enough," Tahiri mumbled.

"Yesterday was horrifying," Ben said. "Where did he find some of those things?"

"I don't want to know. I'm trying to forget about it," she said, her cheeks going pink.

"Me too," Ben said. "Stupid photographic memory."

Tahiri was so very glad she didn't have that. "We'll just have to find you something else to remember then."

Wow, that sounded dumb right after she said it.

"What do you have in mind?" Ben asked, trying to keep things light.

"No idea. I didn't think that far ahead," she admitted.

"Ice cream?" Ben suggested.
