Heroing [Tuesday, Period 2, Class 12]

When Captain Hammer came to class today, he was just getting ready to boom his normal greeting to the class when, out of nowhere, a gremlin snuck up on him. (Which he'd never admit.) And bit him. (Which he would try to forget later.)

Don't worry. Class would still be handled.

"My name is Rainbow Brite!" she/he said...brightly. "And I'm from Rainbow Land! I'm here to add color to your world! For class, we're gonna play with color! What's your favorite color? Draw a picture of yourself wearing it!" She gestured to some art supplies that she'd dragged out (or that Captain Hammer had, prior to class actually getting there. Either way.) "And I can turn anything into colors, with my Color Belt!" She selected something from a small pocket, then held it up. A rainbow shot out of her belt buckle and through the small object onto a desk, turning it from boring brown to a bright, vibrant purple!

At least, in her head. Slash his head. In real life, nooooothing really happened, but Captain Hammer was holding his belt buckle and a penny from his pocket. So there's some interesting imagery.

"See? So today, play with color!" She grinned at the assembled older kids, then spun in a circle. Because she could. Then she set to work turning all the desks different colors!

In her own mind, anyway. The desks were totally the same color.

"I'll try to stay on his good side if I meet him," said Lion-o.

A few beats later, he asked, "Does Mr. Deadpool know anything about swords?"
heromaniac: (thinking)

"Hmm. you know, I don't remember. You can ask, though! He may at least know someone, since he does use weapons!" She thought for a moment. "Really, I don't know who at this school would use a sword. You may have to wait and talk to She-ra after all."

"Or I could just wait and ask Lord Jaga when I go home. The end of the semester is not that far away," said Lion-o.
heromaniac: (huh what)

"True! He's not the kind of guy to simply say 'you have to figure it out yourself, Lion-o' is he?"

"Not really," said Lion-o. "He's like a second dad to me, and he's always really helpful if I have a problem."
heromaniac: (bored)

She stretched out on the desk and sighed. "Ah! Yeah. The Professor is like that for me. Not about swords, mean, the second father part. But if Lord Jaga knows about the sword, why wouldn't he tell you before you left? That would make more sense, wouldn't it?"

"Well, I didn't have the sword when I first came to Fandom," said Lion-o. "It just sort of appeared a few months later when I ran into trouble on Nemesis Island."

Oh yeah! "I forgot you got it when you went to the other island! I was still totally confused about what was going on at this school when Nemesis Island came here. There. I mean, when there was a Nemesis Island." She blinked a few times then chuckled. "That seems like forever ago!"

"Once you fight zombies, I guess you forget about all those other little hassles," said Lion-o with a shrug.
heromaniac: (smile happy eyes closed)

"It's more like, once people you care about die and turn into zombies that you have to fight, but yeah!" She smiled at him. "Oh, hey, I forgot to say thanks for helping in the fight the other day! That was pretty brave of you, so thanks very much! I'm sure Mr Snarf was not happy about it, though!"

"He definitely got whiny about it, but I threatened to lock him in my closet again if he wouldn't let me go," said Lion-o with a smirk. "Besides, he was just as vulnerable as anyone else if the zombies had gotten into the dorms."
heromaniac: (point up)

"I hope so. It's so embarrassing when he fusses over me," said Lion-o, pouting.

Momoko nodded sympathetically. "You just have to be patient! You're already doing stuff without him so eventually he'll see that you can do even more! He's probably also worried you won't care about him if he doesn't do stuff for you." She frowned, "Oh yeah. I have to write home to my mom."

"Honestly, I get to be a normal kid here, and back home they treat me like royalty. I don't think Snarf ever got used to that," said Lion-o. "But he does like squishies from Turtle & Canary. I found that they're got for bribing him sometimes."
heromaniac: (laugh desk friends talk)

Momoko laughed. "See? Bribing him is totally more grown up than threatening to lock him in a closet!"

"You know what's funny? Snarf made me write home to tell them what I did to go on spring break, and my dad actually thought it was funny!" said Lion-o, grinning.
heromaniac: (huh what)

"He thought going on a free cruise was funny?" Momoko wondered what about a cruise ship was funny.

"He thought it was funny that Snarf wouldn't let me go so I had to lock Snarf in a closet and make a run for it to catch the portal," said Lion-o. "My dad said that if Snarf had consulted him, he totally would have let me go."
heromaniac: (smile giggle)

[personal profile] heromaniac 2009-04-10 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Wow!" Momoko beamed. "Your dad sounds really nice! That is kind of sad for poor Mr Snarf, though! Stuck in the closet for nothing!"

"He's just trying to do his job snarf snarf!" Momoko tried to mimic Mr Snarf's voice and failed. She grinned. "He does care about you though, and that's very nice! Especially if it's your first time away from home and there's no one around from your own world and no easy way to visit either!"

Momoko grinned at him. "For me it was a new adventure and I was really excited to be in America!" And even just to be in high school. "Although I knew it was a weird school to begin with, since I had to take a portal to get here! And even though no one here is from my world, there's still a Japan and so I don't feel as lonely as you, probably."
