So, the zombies were defeated and the world could go back to being normal and Cal could stop pretending that he cared enough to do things to help, right?

Back to just the nice, comfortable repetition of going to the library, putting too much sugar in his coffee, and then pretending to work.

Return to normalcy, right?

Because it wasn't long after Cal settled down into his chair behind the desk that the gremlins, already, decided to start making their claim on that whole 'bite as much as they want, whoever they want' deal, sinking teeth deep into Cal's ankle.

"Ow! Son of a---"

Before the curse could be finished, another one started and Belle closed her eyes and drew in a deep breath, unable to believe her magnificent luck. This library! It was...incredible! Books everywhere!

Oh, she was just in heaven!

Second Period -- 04/06.

Even after over an hour of this, Belle was still in ecstasy over her luck, prancing through the rows upon rows and trying to just grab every book she could to savor and enjoy.

Oh, but, of course, it wouldn't do to just look at the books and read them. Oh, no.

Belle had to sing about them. And her voice was so beautiful as a great, swelling, orchestral melody burst from her, sweeping dance moves accompanying her across the sea of wonderful books.

Belle realized she should probably take a break and eat something, but why? She was content to just feast her eyes on books.

Who very distinctly wanted to just crawl up under the desk and maybe die a little.

Yeah. That'd be nice.
