Heroing [period 2, class 12]

"Hello!" Hammer boomed as the class made their way in today. "Now, children, while I know you all look up to me, I need you to remember an important thing: everyone is different. No one else can be as strong as I am, or as ruggedly handsome, or as brilliant, and so, it's important that you recognize this."

He paused, posing. They should really be used to this by now.

"And sometimes, my mini-heroes, you're going to need...teamwork. Some heroes even have sidekicks, which are like partners who aren't as cool as you, but sometimes, you get to have sex with them anyway. Your assignment today, kids, is to find a partner and figure out why you would make a good heroing team. You should bring different things -- don't just pick your friends, or the people you pay to pretend to be your friends! That's just silly."

"Wow you know a lot about this kind of thing don't you." Robin said, impressed.

"Well, I have a team back home so I am kind of experienced! Being here is my first time not having a team to work with and really I don't think I like it since it means I have to be everywhere on my own and I can't just yell at someone I trust to help, like, 'Hey, you take care of that and you should do the other, and I'll do this' and then it's all done." She smiled. "You aren't a part of a team, then, I guess?"

"Not a super hero team. But I've worked with other people on shows and stuff."

"Did I know you were an actor?" Momoko asked, then smiled and sat back in her chair. "I was in a fashion show once! And I did some PSA commercials for the city, so I know that take a lot of teamwork, too, and you have to cooperate and get along even when you don't want to because you don't like the other person but you have to have a good cameraman and maybe no one else can make the costumes that you need or you need someone who has ice breath to freeze the water monster so you can hit it with your super strength!"

"Exactly!" Robin bounced happily. "A superhero team is like a band, or a troupe of actors!"

Momoko blinked, wide eyed. "I think being a hero in a team is totally different! You still have to work together and have all of those issues because you are a team! But you're not working together to get something done, you're getting something done by working together. When you're an actor you can't make an entire tv show by yourself, right? But if you're a hero you find someway to save someone or defeat the bad guy even without a team, it's just way way harder sometimes!"

"There's lots of actors or musicians who work alone." Robin countered.

It seemed wrong somehow, saying heroes and actors were the same. "Hmm. While that's true, I still think it's a bit different. Except for the teamwork part, since being part of a team and having to work together is almost always for the same reasons no matter what you do when you are a team- you need help from other people! Right? And having a team of people is a lot better than just having one sidekick."

"That's kind of what I meant." Robin agreed.

"Then we agree a team is better than just a sidekick, right? So, if we have a team and it's you and me so far, we have a leader (that's me, since I'm red) and you're Green. We need at least a Blue and a Yellow, although really we should have five so if we can find a Pink that would be perfect!"

Robin nodded. "That sounds great! Do you have any ideas?"
