Movie Appreciation: Week 11, Period 3 (Fri. 3/27)

Ronon stood at the podium, right in front of the center of the movie screen, awaiting the class to arrive. "So the internet says documentary films are made to capture reality on film. Other stuff says that the act of filming changes the reality. What you guys are gonna do is easy. Before we watch our movie, you're each gonna come up here and tell us some part of your life that would make a good documentary. Embellish it, whatever," Ronon shrugged, he really didn't care if they blatantly lied so long as they said something. He pointed to someone at random as he stepped away from the podium, "You, go first."

When everyone had finished their chance at talking, Ronon got back up in front of the group. "Okay, now that we've gotten some ideas of...weird stuff that could be a Fandom documentary, we're gonna watch meta for March of the Penguins and see if we can't get some of you to cry." He was teasing, but there were still tissue boxes at the ready.

This is why even nature programs about animals need some kind of a warning for me. I want to know if I'm going to be watching an interesting film about their lives or if it's going to take a turn at the end towards "And this adorable fluffy inch-tall bunny who only wants to hug will be dead soon, thanks to people who have been stomping on them to make a squishy sound. Have a good night!"

Oh man, I can't even watch Animal Planet for fear of that. Meerkat Manor? Totally out because I will bawl if one of those adorable things gets lost or is ignored by its fellow meerkats.

SO WEAK.
