Library [03/18]

After the food fight in class and the cereal raining from the sky, Sam was very happy to be able to go outside and not end up covered in food.

This feeling lasted right up to the point where he spilled his coffee on himself getting into the library.

Luckily, Sam had a t-shirt on underneath his longer shirt, so he was only feeling a little embarrassed when he finally got settled in at the desk. If anyone asked him why he was under-dressed, well, he'd come up with a better story then.

Sam checked to see if anyone had any overdue books, and checked in all of the books that had been returned.

Still at the computer, Sam took some time to check his e-mail, skipping the most questionable messages.

Getting messy made him want to clean, so Sam went to work straightening out the desk, and going a bit aimlessly through the stacks in search of any books that were noticeably out of place.

Sam had brought the drinks for lunch today, and waited for Dean to show up.

Instead of picking out a book, Sam had his class notes with him today, and was rereading them to find the spots where his scribbling no longer made sense.

Sam took a quick sweep through the library to make sure everything at least looked clean.

*curls up for a nap*

It was a grim looking Dr. Jones who entered the library. He was dressed in his standard expedition gear which included the hat, leather jacket and sturdy work boots.

"Morning Sam," he said as he placed an old looking book on the counter as he strapped his whip to his side. "Quiet day?"

Peter came in and looked for Sam.

Sam managed to not stare at Dr. Jones' clothes, or the whip, since he was much more interested in trying to get a good look at the book. "It's been quiet so far, yeah. And the palm trees are gone, so I think the place is back to normal." As normal as it could be with Special Collections in it anyway.

Sam peered towards the door when he heard it open, and broke into a grin at seeing Peter. "Hey," he said, setting his notes aside into a pile.

"Hey," Peter replied. He brought coffee and donuts over. "How's it going?"

"Good," he said picking up the book and looking at Special Collections with a wary eye. "you don't think special collections has a... thing about overdue library books, do you?"

Sam followed Dr. Jones' gaze, and gave that thought some consideration. "Maybe not? I think it could depend on the book. And maybe on if the person returning it was apologetic."

"Much better now," Sam said. "How are you?"

Dean came in at his usual time and pointed at Sammy. "Dude, just so this is clear, you're not allowed to have sex with Chuck Bass."

"Better too," Peter agreed. He leaned across the counter to give Sam a kiss.

Indiana exhaled and nodded before heading for the entrance of Special Collections. "The book was about this island and... well I'll let you know how the rest turns out."

Sam stared at Dean before making a grossed out face. "Hello to you too," he said. "Are you trying to kill my appetite?"

Sam made a pleased noise and kissed Peter back. "Mmmm, my favorite part of the day."

"Good luck," Sam said quickly. He really hoped that Special Collections would treat a librarian nicer than a regular person.

Indiana hesitated a moment or two before opening the door.

When nothing happened he flashed a grin at Sam and stepped through.

The door immediately slammed shut behind him on its own in a somewhat menacing fashion.

"Good," Dean said, nodding in satisfaction. "Keep that reaction."

"I'm not going to cheat on Peter with Chuck Bass," Sam said. "You're as bad as he is if you think I'd do that."

"Mine too," Peter said. He pulled back enough to smile at Sam, which allowed him to register what Sam was wearing. "Not that I'm complaining but aren't you underdressed?"
