Library, Sunday

Lee had gotten up early. He was way too wound up to sleep and there was a big island to discover and play in. He'd stomped through leftover puddles from last night and eventually skittered into the HUGE library.

"Wow," Lee said, awe in his voice. "S'big!"

And then he took off, running up and down the aisles, giggling gleefully. Occasionally, he'd stop and pull a book off the shelf, check for pretty pictures and then dropped it to go running again.

"Plaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!"

It was Sunday, so Toby knew exactly where to find Lee for some BFF time. He made his way to the desk and perched on the edge with two coffees and donuts. "Dude," he called out. "You will never believe the time I had trying to get a freaking pastry this morning."

Small children bouncing off his body was exactly what he was here to tell Lee about. How weird.

"Um, hey. Do I know you?" Toby asked the rather adorable kid.

"Lee?" Toby repeated dumbly. "Dude, how'd you get so small?

"Dude, your arms are like, MIA," Toby frowned.

"Please," Toby scoffed. "You've got the definition of a...five year old?"

And a little bastard, apparently.

"Dude! No hitting!" Toby said, trying to dodge. "I have donuts."

Toby picked up the tyke to show him the donuts and coffee on the counter. "See? Now, if you're real nice to Toby he will give you sugar!"

The awww was instant. Toby hugged little Lee back and set him on the counter. "We talkin' your world or mine?"

"For that you get my donut, too," Toby laughed. "Are you allowed to have coffee?"

"I like it," Toby shrugged. "But I've heard it can like, stunt your growth. And really, you weren't all that tall before, dude."

"You sure are, little dude," Toby grinned. "Be careful not to hit your head! I don't wanna get yelled at for letting you be brain damaged."

Toby accepted the food, not realizing how gross children were. "So like, your head is as hard as a helmet?"

"What's a Gacatica?" Toby wondered.
