John nods politely. "Yes sir, that's me. Sam called and told me that you wanted to see me before approving the independent study."

Charlie nods back. "I'm really just checking to see if you have the skills needed," he says, smiling. "And, of course, that you're actually interested, and not being bullied into it by those determined young women although math is love omg and you should be interested."

"Oh, I'm interested sir. I just missed sign ups." John rocks on his feet for a moment. "I'm actually taking Quantum Physics and Physics where I'm using math skills. Math's a big part of the theories I've been studying, sir."
