"Well, battle was a major part of ancient people's lives, whether against each other or nature. And it only seems natural that battle would make its way into religion." She pauses, thinking. "I think it's odd, really, that they create gods who can be defeated, killed, even by other gods."

Rogue stares off into space, thinking. "The ancients' gods weren't anything like the Christian God is understood. They weren't omniscient, so one might assume they were also understood to be omnipotent." She frowns. "They were more like humans, with failings, desires, and all that, just ... bigger. Better. Closer to perfect but not quite makin' it."

She starts flipping through her text book.

"It affects me...." she trails off, still flipping. "I don't know. We've become...distant from our gods, our religion. I mean, we try to make it personal, but how personal can a relationship be with someone who's perfect?" She frowns. "Well, that sounds horrible."
