More Adventuring for Idiots [Thursday, 3rd Period]

Cara had told her class to meet her in the Urdnot Camp, where they'd find her talking with one of the scouts, who was gesturing animatedly as he explained something to her.

"So sometimes you end up places were it seems that everything is trying to kill you," she said, not even bothering to mention last week, because there was no need to remind themselves about it. "There are various ways to deal with this, such as attempting to kill everything first, but you can also make this work for you. My new friend here is going to explain one of the ways you can do it."

The Krogan clapped his hands and a varren trotted over to him, followed by a litter of much smaller varren.

Throwing Things: Lessons in Athletics and War From a Distance

"Okay, none week I was busy, last week I was… Ugh," Fred declared. "So screw it, let's throw grenades and blow some shit up."

The Danger Shop transformed into a desertscape littered with dummies, tanks, and sheds. By the students were a bunch of bandoliers with grenades strapped to them.

"The important thing with grenades is that you want to throw them far away because they explode and make things blow up. You do not want to be blown up. You want other things to be blown up," Fred emphasized. He grabbed a bandolier and pulled off a grenade, demonstrating as he explained. "You pop the pin out, which turns it into an active explosive, and then you throw it away from you. Again, far away. Run away after you throw it if you're not confident in your throwing skills yet. If it explodes too close to you, you'll probably die from shrapnel. And if that doesn't get you, the shockwave probably will."

Fred provided some more information about pins and lobbed a few more into the distance. Each one ended with a satisfying boom and maybe a dummy arm flying around in tatters.

"Okay, go ahead, make things explode, and definitely don't take advantage of the fact that the Shop is designed to not blow you up if you didn't throw a grenade far enough." With that, a grenade exploded directly behind Fred. As the smoke started to clear, he could be seen posing, looking up at something unidentified in the sky and holding his bandolier. Like a badass.

"Okay, seriously, start doing it."

So You Just Met Your Relative From the Future [Friday, July 22, 2016]

"Master Kenobi had to return home today to deal with something probably regarding an alternative universe version of my baby father," Ben said with an easy grin, "which is not the most convoluted sentence I've ever uttered regarding my family at this school. I've met my grandfather and my future grandson. My mom's currently running around here with no idea who I am, being taught by my husband." He smiled at Ahsoka, "And I'm teaching my grandfather's Padawan, who I didn't know about at all until she showed up here. Communication isn't really a strength of my family. So today we'll work on that. In light of a weekend where we forgot everything and a week where we turned into other species, what kind of traits have you found to be part of your essential self? How do you think people would describe you in a sentence in family stories to people who will never know you? For example, Granddad was always described to me as tall, conflicted, and hard to approach."

And that was the kid-friendly version.

"How would you describe me or Master Kenobi to your friends? How would you like to be thought of?"

Library, Friday

No longer being a dragon made her library shift a good deal easier. It also helped that the books for once cooperated. Perhaps they too were fed up with the strangeness of the island, or they were just exhausted. Either way, Lucille wasn't going to complain, and took the opportunity to get some shelving done without being interrupted.
