Into the Black Flight Club meeting (Tuesday evening)

Anakin and Padmé sat on the ramp of Padmé's ship. The smell of the pizza ordered for the Flight Club's first meeting wafted out and caused Anakin's stomach to rumble.

He practically vibrated with energy. Could be the possibility of flying again. Could be the excuse to spend more time with the Senator. Either way, he's in a fantastic mood.

Anakin overheard her and smiled. "How many hours since you've been in the air, then?"

"I can't count that. It would only depress me," she says with a wan smile. "I haven't even been in a cockpit since I've been here."

"I know the feeling. It's got me positively twitching. I haven't had my hand on a stick since I got dropped off here a month ago." He cleared his throat. "That sounded a lot less bad in my head."

Aeryn laughs. "You think that's bad, you should hear half of what's said over Peacekeeper comms in flight training."

"Oh, flight training!" Anakin snorted. "For a group of beings intent on finding inner serenity, you've never heard so many curses than when Jedi apprentices are put into cockpits for the first time."

"It's nerve-wracking! I've never seen anyone been able to stay completely calm the entire time. I'm not sure it's possible."

Anakin let out a snort. "My old teacher, who's pretty much the calmest being I've ever met in my life, turns into a squealing old woman when we're flying together."

Anakin held one hand like a ship, the other up like a wall. "We were on this one planet, right? Running for our lives when the negotiations we were engaged in ended in them trying to kill us. Very rude. So I jumped into the closest thing that looked like it would carry two of us and started engaging in some defensive manuevering." His hands started to bob and weave. "And Obi-Wan--that's my master--is closing his eyes and whimpering. And then shrieking like a stomped-on womp rat when we got within two meters of a wall." He rolled his eyes. "Okay, a meter. Maybe slightly less. But I was totally in control."

Aeryn laughs. "Within two meters of a wall might be cause for the passenger to whimper at least a little," she says.

Okay, you're really going to have to show me what a prowler looks like.

"It's..." She thinks about how to describe it, and she's not quite sure how everything will translate and "pointy" doesn't do it justice. "I will find your a picture somehow."

Cameron smiles, "Cool, because I'm getting curious."

"I didn't think I talked that much about it," she says.

"No, but if you miss it that much it must be good." Cameron shrugs.

Aeryn almost doesn't want to admit that she does miss it, but says, "It is."

Cameron nods in understanding even if he probably doesn't really get hit.

"The, um, chocolate thing was good," she tells him, changing the subject.

*good move*

Maybe they would send it to me if I asked really nicely.

::tries desperately not to smile::

Yes, Aeryn. I'm sure if you asked really, really nicely, the lovely Peacekeeper Commanders will be sure to send you one right away.

I'm a little surprised to see you here, actually.

::blinks:: Me? Why's that?

I've just never known you to be a ship enthusiast, that's all.

Ah, well. ::shrugs:: Guess I kinda miss being up there, I guess.

When was the last time you were planet-bound this long?
