Into the Black Flight Club meeting (Tuesday evening)

Anakin and Padmé sat on the ramp of Padmé's ship. The smell of the pizza ordered for the Flight Club's first meeting wafted out and caused Anakin's stomach to rumble.

He practically vibrated with energy. Could be the possibility of flying again. Could be the excuse to spend more time with the Senator. Either way, he's in a fantastic mood.

"I'd kiss you for that. If were were somewhere else." She grins, then cocks her head. "Hey. Uh. About that. Want to go for a walk for a few? I need to ask you something."

Oh... what the hell did I do this time? *pouts petulantly*

I think there's a room past that curtain...

"Maybe better we don't go into Padme's ship without permission. Walk with me a bit instead?" She puts out her hand. "You didn't do anything. Really."

*still looks nervous*

Um... okay...

Lead the way.

Beka walks off a little way to a group of boulders. She sits, leaning up against one of the rocks, facing toward the group. "It's OK, really. And it won't take long. Just wanted to talk some place where we wouldn't get distracted with kissing or cuddling or whatever."

And *not* being in public is supposed to advocate for that?

Sorry, I'm not trying to be an ass ~~it just comes naturally~~

She smirks at him. "It's public enough to keep from 'making with the naked-touching' as a friend puts it."

OK, this shouldn't be a big deal, Valentine. "All right. I'll make it simple. Someone else asked me out. So, you and I need to decide what's going on between us. Or at least where we want it to go for now."

Decide this first... or does the fact that you're even mentioning this to me already answer this: Do you want to go out with him/her?

She looks at him levelly. "That's complicated. You know me. I'm a big flirt. This person is someone I find intriguing. I'm not going to fall in love with him. Though we could probably have a good time together."

OK, this is harder than I thought. Why does he care? "You..." She sighs. "You're probably my best friend. And there's something really...nice...here. I'm afraid of breaking what we have by making too much of it too soon. But you want us to be together like that..."

See this is why guys hate having conversations like this.

If I say 'go out with him', it sounds like I don't want you to be with me anymore. Whatever that means for us. If I say, 'don't go out with him', it sounds like I'm asking for more than I'm ready to cop to.

Honestly, I'm okay with you going out with him - provided he's not a complete freak show, 'cause then I'd have to kick his ass - 'cause you're right, what we have is good. But that doesn't have to change just because you eat dinner or go to a movie or 'whatever' with someone else.

Does it?

Beka grins. "This is me. Not some normal chick. It's OK with me if you fuck him but I'd still like to see you and maybe do you myself is an entirely acceptable response.

And no. It's not going to change what we have unless you go getting jealous. Because I'm sure he's not going to."

She tilts her head to look up at him. "Same for you. I'm not going to get insane if you're with some other girl or guy. Doing 'whatever'."

Oh... well in that case, "It's OK with me if you fuck him but I'd still like to see you and maybe do you myself."

I don't see why I'd have reason to get jealous as long as I still get to see you sometime. I don't have any claims on your or your time. I think if you ever got tied down to someone, you'd resent it and then you'd cease to be the person I'm really starting to like hanging out with.

Her heart flips over a bit. "You're pretty damned smart about me. I like being with you." She smirks. "Like messing with your head, too. And wouldn't mind messing with the rest of you.

"I don't want to screw up by trying to be in a..." But they are in a relationship, so that's not right. "By trying to be a couple. I tried it. Wasn't good at it. I break stuff. I don't want to break this."

I'm pretty tough to break. ~~though I bend in some interesting ways~~

Things between us are good as they are. Moving along at their own pace, things happen when they happen. Planning isn't working out for us, but I'm sure you noticed that.

I think right now we both want the same thing. As long as we remember to talk if either of us finding our needs changing, we'll be golden.

"You're good at this." The memory of the dance-floor kiss sweeps over her. "Good at all kinds of things. Promise you're not going to skip out on me just because I don't want you to tattoo my name on your ... forehead?"

I think the bigger problem would be me running for the hills if you *did* tattoo my name. Anywhere.

"If I said I loved you for that, would you run?" She smirks. "So... I should let you get back. Or, we should go back. Or... we could, well, whatever."

We might actually want to you know... go to Flight Club so we get credit. I don't think meeting there and then ~~sneaking off~~ leaving to have a chat quite constitutes attending.

[ooc: mun has hit bedtime again.]

"I think being here is enough, this time. Besides. I've got more extra credit than I know what to do with. And so do you. You don't fool me pretending to be disinterested." She winks.

Beka stands, dusts off her black leather pants. "Let's go. I'm going to see if I can rustle up some trouble for tonight with Chi."

*Follows her back, muttering:*

Why, oh why do I forsee a three a.m. phone call to come bail you out, when you say things like that?

She turns to him and favors him with a very honest, very simple, very warm smile. "Because. If I need bailing out at 3 am, I trust you enough to call."

(OOC: I'm going to send her to the election party. If you want him to have been there, I can NPC him and then send him home at some point.)

*Squirms a little under her gaze, has to break the tension a little before things get awkwardly mushy.*

'Cause you know I'd show up. I'd rip you a new one for ~~getting caught~~ being stupid and dragging my ass out of bed for it, but I'd be there.

"I know you would." That's all she says, but it's all she has to say. He would and he would take care of her and they both know it. Even if she'd hear about it for weeks afterward.

They head back to the meeting where they separate for awhile, only to meet again later to go to the election party.

[ooc: night!]

(OOC: He ended up going in with Beka, talking to Elizabeth briefly - mostly mocking Beka, and standing guard a little worriedly when Parker approached Beka. Parker gave him a lollipop. That's all he did, then he 'left'.)
