Management Theory [Tuesday, February 17, 4th period]

"Today," Yzma began, stomping in front of the students, "we learn the important task of taking out the garbage!"

She clapped her hands and enormous, slightly llama-shaped burlap sacks appeared before them. "It is vital when you are in management that certain tasks be completed by you personally because minions will only screw them up and not check to make sure the garbage is completely dead--"

Huge, false smile. "I mean disposed of! Yes! Disposed of!" She pulled a map out of midair. "You are here," she said, pointing to a place that was marked with a convenient X. "You need to get here." Another X. "Pick up your bags and get rid of your garbage! Which is not particularly llama shaped!"

She paused. "You may hum your own theme music if you wish."

Romeo blinked at her. Several times. He didn't hate the class, but it was at best a waste of his time.

"It's almost as if we're in completely different classes," he marveled. "I'm glad you enjoy it, though."

"I do," Rikku sighed. "I mean, roller-coasters and stuff to beat up, that's kinda my idea of a good time. Are you not enjoying yourself? I mean, I'm sorry if it sucks for you. That doesn't sound like how I mean it to, dang it."

"No, it's all right," Romeo said. "I don't object to the roller coaster, or even to the assignments, it just seems like wasted time. I meant for this to be my serious class."

He looked down at his dripping-wet self. "And I liked my shirt today."

"Oooooh." Rikku nodded. "Yeah, it's kinda not so much of that, is it? My other class is journalism. Which is kinda insane, but the useful sort of insane. What else are you in, anyway?"

"Heroing, which is almost funny, and movies, which I like," Romeo said. "You only took two classes?"

Rikku grinned. "Just this semester. I usually take three, but with the paper to run and cheerleading and work, three started to feel kinda hectic, you know?"

"And it's our last semester anyhow," Romeo said. "If you only want two, you should only take two. I'm glad you like both of yours."

Rikku nodded. "I hate thinking that. About it being our last semester, I mean. It feels like we just got here. I know it's crazy, I've been here forever, but it does."

"You got here a year before I did, didn't you?" Romeo asked, trying to remember. "I do understand what you mean, though, about it having been forever and five minutes."
