Lee had another moment of gratefulness that the power was back when he arrived into work. He really hadn't wanted to sit in a cold library, surrounded by cold books for an entire day. It might have driven him insane. So, instead, he was enjoying the heat by actually taking a leisurely walk around the library. He was too restless to sit behind the desk and too unmotivated to do actual work so a walk won out.

"No, no, don't cry, that wasn't meant for you," Lee said quickly. "I think all the phone calls were frakked up. You sent me one that called me an asshole but you didn't mean that, right?"

"Never!" Well, unless he got pissed. "That was so for Worf! I am like, never trying to sleep with a student again."

"And I can't even remember who the message you got was for," Lee said. "I got a lot of frakked up messages."

"Wow, man," Toby tried to wrap his brain around this. "But we're cool, right?"

"We're completely cool," Lee assured him. "Come on, as soon as I figured out something was up, I forgot about it."

"Yeah...I think I just forgot," Toby admitted. "This week was such a blur."

Lee reached out and actually tapped the side of Toby's head. "I'm checking to see if your brain's still a block of ice."

That earned Lee a stupid smile. "Might be. You'd think drying my hair would help some."

"Well, it's not like it's still not cold out," Lee said. "It could be a slow thaw in there!"

"Think I need a turban or like, one of those hats with flaps?"

"Wouldn't that mess up your hair?" Lee asked.

"Nah, my hair's way resistant or resilient or whatever," Toby assured him.

"You know, good thing you did stay inside," Lee said. "I can just imagine you with a head full of icicles when you went outside after a shower."

"Dude!" Lee was like, a fortune teller or something. "I totes had frost in my hair, it was so fuckin' weird!"

"Next time, wear a hat," Lee laughed. "I don't need to get a call from you that you're in the clinic because you're head is actually frozen and you need immediate scalp surgery."

"Dude, I so will," Toby said, eyes a little wide with fear.

"Don't look so scared," Lee said. "I'll start feeling bad that I scared you and I can't have that."

Toby laughed a little nervously. "I'm not scared, just...not looking forward to any sort of surgery ever. Oh my god, I so hate hospitals." What with Kevin having died in one that time.

"Spent a lot in them?" Lee asked with some concern.

"Not for me," Toby shook his head. "For Kevin. That time he died was rough."

"Kevin died?" Lee asked. "The Kevin who was here?"

"Yeah, like a few weeks before we came to Fandom. He died but Ambrosius brought him back and made him his slave. It was crazy."

"Frak," Lee said, eyes wide. "Was he okay after...he came back?"

"No, he was all like, possessed. Like if those zombies at the bar were super hot and had a lot of sex," Toby offered. "But me and Van, my friend who's like a witch now, found this magical book and fixed him."

Lee decided that Toby was from a really frakked up place.

"You've never died, right?"
