"Now, be polite to your teachers, they've worked very hard to teach you these important lessons, mmkay?"

Dean glanced over and spotted her. "That shirt looks awfully familiar," he said with a faint grin.

"Does it?" Zoe said innocently. "I can't imagine why. I certainly didn't steal it from anyone when I ran out of shirts."

"The point of this assembly is to ensure that the teachers and staff look responsible to the students," Zoe said. "I don't think nudity would help."

"It's not like I got drunk and went down to the local tattoo parlour and got some girl's name tattooed somewhere unmentionable," Dean said.

"Oh, well, I'm especially glad to hear that. You said something about Vkandis?"

Dean nodded. He pulled his shirt down to show her the tattoo (http://pics.livejournal.com/saltandammo/pic/00050wck). "I got the idea of combining traditional warding symbols with Vkandis symbols to make one more powerful, and Karal came up with a ritual to make it Vkandis blessed. It keeps demons out."

Zoe had to admit, she'd seen much worse tattoos in her life. "It'll keep you from getting possessed?" she asked.

"Yep. Karal said it would probably let me sense demons too. Which is just a cool bonus."
