The Club Fair; Gym; Friday Afternoon [ 01/16 ].

Never one to shy away from getting her hands dirty in the tedious work of helping a student body run nice and smooth not dirty, Turtle had been very eager to help set up the club fair again this semester, putting up all the signs and posters and little treats on Westing Paper Products. The Club Schedule was very prominently displayed were everyone could see it before disappearing into the small maze of tables filling in the gym.

That, and it also helped her hold off the inevitable moment of seeing how this whole laundry strike thing was really effecting Jeff. Ahhhh, manual labor, the true opiate of the work-addicted masses.

Chad didn't pay much attention to stuff like what was going on with all the clothes; all he knew was that his little sister was promoting cheerleading in her underwear, and it called for a facepalm and a very strong urge to find a blanket to put over her.

"Brooke," he said, "where are your clothes?"

"It's not my fault," Brooke started, still almost cheerful. "They just disappeared right off me. I'm not asking. If I ask, my head's going to hurt. So I'm using what god gave me to show off my school spirit."

Chad's facepalm was doubling nicely to work on covering his eyes.

"Is it working?"

He didn't know if he could be all Big Brother and tell her to cover up if it was working, really.

"Oh, you better believe it, it's me." She'd say that whether anyone'd come by or not.

Chad just grunted at that, realizing that he didn't have anything to say. Unless he was telling Brooke to cover up.

"Uh, good job?" he tried, and it felt very not right. Very not right indeed.

"Thank you," Brooke said, completely oblivious to any not rightness. She was naked on the Internet. Like she should have shame anymore? "So how's it going? Lots of new music club signups?"

It wasn't like Chad knew that! And he would not know what to do if he ever found out.

Probably try to ground her.

And that would work so well.

"Not a lot," Chad admitted. "But we've got a new advisor, so it'll still feel new and stuff."

"Oh, really? Who?" Even if she had no idea who the person was, it was always good to have gossip- info, whatever- you didn't before.

"Miss Bennet?" Chad said, making it a question to see if Brooke knew her. "Mister Cannon left, so I needed someone else, and she's nice."

Chad kept making the mistake of going to look at Brooke as he talked to her, which kept reminded him why he wasn't looking at her as he talked to her in the first place.

"Oh, yeah, she was my Lit teacher last semester," she said, still going on like it was a normal day where she might've been wearing something like a turtleneck. "A little old-fashioned, not big on talking in class..."

"Yeah, it helps to have a music advisor who actually knows something about it," she mused. "Well, cool, I hope she works out awesome."

"She will," Chad said, nodding with conviction.

And he just stuck with that because all he could think to say next was to ask if Brooke would go find clothes now. She could even have his shirt if she wante--

Chad blinked, pressing a hand against his chest, which now suddenly appeared rather shirtless.

...There went that idea.

Brooke just smiled, not about to check her big brother out. "See, if I don't think about things like that, the headache stays away," she said knowingly.

"...I just really hope," Chad said, still patting his chest as if that would help bring his shirt back, "the pants don't go next. Teddy would kill me."

She didn't look down. It'd just be wrong. "I'd vouch for you," she said, and paused. "Which, okay, I realize I might not be the most reliable witness when it comes to clothing removal, accidental or otherwise, but I would."

"Thanks," Chad said, but he sounded a bit more worried. "I just know sometimes I have problems with suddenly disappearing pants."

Which was probably more than Brooke needed to know, but now Chad was a little distressed that he'd end up sitting naked on the roof tonight, and that was never, ever a good thing in the past.
