Library; Monday [ 01/12 ].

Cal was greatly relieved to open the library and notice a distinct lack of bananas waiting for him. Not that he minded them, of course, it would just be a really long semester if it turned out he'd have to deal with them every day. Still, though he was sure it was just Fandom being weird for a week, Cal had brought precautions, placing one apple on a corner of the desk, and an orange on the other. The only place this made sense was probably in his head, but, if they didn't turn out to be very good fruit sentinels, then maybe any bananas that should show up would have company.

He sat down, got ready for the day, and then realized that he had thought about fruit sentinels. This place was finally starting to drive him a little crazy, he realized, with a thoughtful, philosophical, "Huh."

In sorting out the books, Cal only even discovered a single book about bananas, and it was a cookbook devoted entirely to banana breads.

It was when Cal went to shelve the books that he realized perhaps it wasn't coincidence. There appeared to be a few more bananas around, but they, the forgotten ones, had gone all brown to the point where no one would eat them, and all you could do with them was....you guessed it...banana bread.

Cal didn't know how to make banana bread, but he did know he wasn't going to try, so he just threw all the old bananas out when he returned to the desk.

With Cal out for a smoke break, the library is closed but for other aides and the librarian.

And now Cal's back, picking at the remains of his sandwich at the desk and reading through Harry V since he knew he was sucked into probably auditioning again.

Arguably, there wasn't really a fifth period this semester, but Cal was still there for it, because it wasn't like he had anything better to do.

SOOOOO GOOD, and I usually hate banana bread-y stuff.

Someone brought in a container of mini chocolate chip muffins last week. They were not actually banana-chocolate chip, but they'd also put a loaf of banana bread in the container with it that permeated the entire thing. I was very confused. For half a second. Then there was just OM NOM NOM.
