Leadership: Wednesday, Period 1, Class 1. (1/7/09)

"Morning everyone," Nathan said. He took a spot at the head of the class. He was, as near darned always, dressed in a suit. "I'm Mr. Petrelli. For anyone here who might be close with my brother Peter, I'm still Mr. Petrelli."

Nathan handed out the syllabus and class rules. "Here's the overview of the class for the semester. Make sure to read it as OOC rules are in there too. Because I'm a lawyer there is the fine print of classes being subject to change at any time.

"Today's class is going to be very easy though. First, I want everyone to introduce themselves with their name and why they're taking the class. Second?"

Nathan sat down behind his desk, looking for all the world like he was done for the day. "Someone needs to be in charge of this class. Let me know if you figure out who that is."

[ooc: OCD is up!]

"Yeah, true," he said and nodded. "The obvious answer is the professor is in charge of the class but that seems obvious."

"Well, I think the principal does," he said and laughed. "I mean, we're supposed to listen and follow the rules of the professors and all."

"Depends on what rule I broke and how tolerant you are," Lee replied. "If I talked out loud, maybe you'd just say 'shut up' but in nicer terms. If I decked another student, I'd probably get detention. Or suspension."

"Not necessarily a leader but it does make you the person in charge," Lee said. "You wouldn't be really leading, would you? Just kind of throwing some weight around because you could."

"Well, trying to sound like you care when you teach," Lee said. "And not sounding like you're bored with the material and the students. And, you know, sounding like you know what you're talking about and not just reading from a textbook."

"Be really frakking scary," he said and shivered. "Or stick me to a wall. Or suspend and expel students depending on what happened."

"Oh, oh, sorry," Lee said. "Set a good example for one. If she's a good example, teachers usually follow that and the teachers can present a good example to the students."

"Uh. Make sure the school is safe both from inside and the outside," he said. "And that means like our regular invasions but also from dangerous students and staff and teachers."
