Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

If anyone had hoped for good weather for the picnic, their wish had been granted as the day turned out to be sunny and warm. Everything had been cleaned up, spiffed up and bedazzled dazzled made as perfect as possible for the new arrivals. They deserved at least a few moments of pleasantness before the weirdness started to sink in.

May whatever deity they believed in help them now.

As usual, there were long tables set up with food and drinks, a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students. With everything in place, the picnic was ready to begin.

[OCD is up!! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible.]

"I've seen bad fires set from electricity before." Of course, the bombs helped that along, but when something electrical was hit, it was more than likely going to set on fire. "I wasn't sure if something as small as a stick could do the same thing."

"It ain't that small," Reno sniffed indignantly. "And it packs a good charge if I got it rigged up right, yo. Sorta the difference between Thunder and Thundaga, you know?"

Probably not. Most people around here didn't. That never really deterred Reno.

"That said, I ain't aimin' to light the preserve on fire, either. I can hold my own with the charge off, too."

He really had no clue what the difference between Thunder and Thundaga was, but he was fairly used to not understanding half of what was said around here by now. "We could try staff sparring. All the benefits of sticks, without the burning or electrical shock."

Reno mulled on that one for all of... Oh, two seconds.

"Sounds like a happy medium kinda gig to me, yo. I think you got yourself a deal."

"I'll look forward to it," Edmund grinned. "I have some things to put away, so I'll go and find our room." He didn't realise it had once been Reno's room on his own.

"Room 429," Reno agreed with a bit of a smirk. "Don't mind the ferret too much."

Or the mess that had been more or less sequestered off to Reno's half of the room. It was mostly just empty bottles and takeout containers anyhow.

Ed mustered a nod, when really all he could think was 'ferret?' and then wondered if it could talk. He'd soon find out. "See you tonight then."
