Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

If anyone had hoped for good weather for the picnic, their wish had been granted as the day turned out to be sunny and warm. Everything had been cleaned up, spiffed up and bedazzled dazzled made as perfect as possible for the new arrivals. They deserved at least a few moments of pleasantness before the weirdness started to sink in.

May whatever deity they believed in help them now.

As usual, there were long tables set up with food and drinks, a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students. With everything in place, the picnic was ready to begin.

"Yeah? What exactly does that mean?" he asks. He'd gotten the notice, but, hadn't had time to read it the day it came, and forgot about it after that.

"It means... I get to show you around and help you out with things you don't know, things like that," Buffy explained. She hardly knew. "Make sure you don't flee the grounds screaming your first day. And possibly same for the second."

"I don't tend to flee screaming from anything."

He takes a scan of the grounds, all the people. "Can't say that I've had girls showing me around places though. This is a first."

"Is that for a cultural reason, time difference reason, or 'ew girls are icky' reason?" she wondered.

He laughs. "I'm not sure. There were surprisingly few girls where I used to live."

The few 'girls' he's met don't seem to be particularly 'icky'... so far.

Van Helsing will ask questions throughout the first several months. The kid's been rather sheltered for the last couple of years.

"Professional altar boy?" she guessed. She had no idea why anyone would live in one. She also spent half her weeknights in a graveyard.
