Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

If anyone had hoped for good weather for the picnic, their wish had been granted as the day turned out to be sunny and warm. Everything had been cleaned up, spiffed up and bedazzled dazzled made as perfect as possible for the new arrivals. They deserved at least a few moments of pleasantness before the weirdness started to sink in.

May whatever deity they believed in help them now.

As usual, there were long tables set up with food and drinks, a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students. With everything in place, the picnic was ready to begin.

"Of course I talk," Spirit snuffled in his gravelly voice. "Is there a reason this unicorn left?"

Adora gave Spirit a pointed look. "What Spirit means to ask is did some trouble take him away?"

"Oh! Actually no!" Dor said cheerfully because for some reason a talking animal made having a girl for a roommate better.

Damn you're weird Dor.

"Jan actually ended up here with amnesia. At the end of the semester he remembered who he was and went home. It was actually a good thing."

"Then we're very glad to be taking his place in the dorms, though not in your heart," Adora told Dor. "But don't worry, Spirit here will be out in the stables, isn't that right, Spirit?"

The white steed snorted and turned away in his displeasure.

"Oh! I'm sorry Spirit!" Dor exclaimed. "That probably doesn't sound too good does it? But I do know a place where they sell some great toasted oats and there's a student garden that has some great pillow plants."

He turned back to his new roommate. "Maybe they could find a room for him inside? Or he could take classes? He does talk."

And there went Spirit laughing aloud again. "No, young one, I am simply here to help Adora." And be Swift Wind. "Should she need me."

"I heard about this garden," Adora enthused at him. "And now it's clear I need to visit the town. There's so many things to see and do!"

"It is an interesting town," Dor said with a nod. "Though I'm still not used to this place. My world is mostly magical based. The whole technology everyone has is still a little unsettling for me."

"Oh, that must be very difficult. Etheria has both magic and technology, but only what we need to survive. And not so many of these transportation vehicles." What had Mister Deadpool called it? A bus?
