Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

If anyone had hoped for good weather for the picnic, their wish had been granted as the day turned out to be sunny and warm. Everything had been cleaned up, spiffed up and ~~bedazzled~~ ~~dazzled~~ made as perfect as possible for the new arrivals. They deserved at least a few moments of pleasantness before the weirdness started to sink in.

May whatever deity they believed in help them now.

As usual, there were long tables set up with food and drinks, a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students. With everything in place, the picnic was ready to begin.

[OCD is up!! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible.]

"There are way freakier things around here than you," Tony assured him.

"Thank you, that's... partially comforting," Zayne said. "What kind of freaky things are we talking about?"

"Unicorns, gremlins, aliens, witches, wizards, ninjas, people turning into animals, animals turning into people... pretty much anything weird you can think of, you're going to find something weirder here." Tony grinned. "Don't worry, it's pretty safe."

If Master Lucien had known about this stuff, it would just be further proof that he didn't like Zayne much. "This is a really weird place, isn't it?"

"Yup," Tony said. "So actually, being from another planet kind of gives you a head start on things."

"That'll be a nice change of pace for me," Zayne said with a tone of relief in his voice. "This could be a good place for me after all."

"Cool," Tony said. "Weren't expecting that?" he asked.

"I usually find myself having to catch up to other people," Zayne said. "It'll be nice to have a head start for once."

"There you go," Tony said. "Um, some of the technology'll probably be different here. Do you have TVs? Coffee machines? Hot and cold running water?"

"Running water, yes. Coffee? We have something called caf, which sounds kind of similar. And what is TV?" Zayne asked.

"It's a screen that shows entertainment." Tony gestured with his hands, outlining the approximate size of the big screen TV in the second floor common room.

"Oh, we have things like that," Zayne said. "So the technology shouldn't be too big an adjustment for me."

"Yeah, you should be fine," Tony grinned. "Still, if you have any questions, let me know. I can totally explain weird holidays or whatever."

"I definitely will," Zayne said. "Thanks for all the help."

"You're welcome," Tony said. "I'm in room 232 if you need me."
