Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

If anyone had hoped for good weather for the picnic, their wish had been granted as the day turned out to be sunny and warm. Everything had been cleaned up, spiffed up and bedazzled dazzled made as perfect as possible for the new arrivals. They deserved at least a few moments of pleasantness before the weirdness started to sink in.

May whatever deity they believed in help them now.

As usual, there were long tables set up with food and drinks, a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students. With everything in place, the picnic was ready to begin.

[OCD is up!! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible.]

"Assigned. Assigned," he repeated. What did that mean?

"You may offer it then, peasant Angela. I give you my undivided attention."

Yeah, she was just going to give up on getting him to drop the peasant part.

"Well, first off. Do you have any questions?"

"Where is Giselle?" he asked. "Are you in league with the old hag that sent her to this foul place?"

"I shared a cabin with a girl called Giselle over the summer," Angela said after a moment. "But uh, I don't know where she is now, and I haven't been in league with any foul hags lately."

"I hope not?" Angela offered. "Try not to worry about it, sweetie," she said. "Worrying away your first day here would be a waste."

"Right, I got that," she said with a smile. "I think you'll find this place a little different than you're used to."

"... You're getting married in the morning?" Angela asked a little bemused. "To Giselle?" she guessed. "How old are you?"

A beat.

"Old enough!" Um. "I am physically fit for a sixteen year old!"

"You're getting married at sixteen?" She checked. "You want to get married already?" Most boys she knew definitely didn't want that at sixteen.

Well, it was a very sweet notion, there was no doubt about that.

"Good luck with that," she said. Angela and her commitment issues would be staying well away from that for the time being.

Okay, that part was kind of cool. She grinned at him as he bowed.

"If you need anything, my room is on the 4th floor. 403," she told him. "Just come find me, and I'll try and help."
