BWI Airport, Portalocity Port, Saturday Morning

Spirit's ride to the island had been settled and Adora was trying very hard not to be nervous while she waited for the Fandom transport to arrive. Looking out the airport window, Adora realized she'd never seen so many fleets of vehicles in all her life that weren't involved in some sort of insurrection, and found herself desperately hoping her mother was right about this Earth place being safe from the Horde.

Just the thought of her family calmed Adora and she instinctively reached to touch the Sword of Protection where it was hidden by her hair and clothing, feeling that no matter where she was, she always had a way to contact the people she loved.

Now if only she knew for sure that this room marked "Fandom High" was really where she needed to be. Adora paced the large space as she waited, thinking she couldn't possibly be the only new student journeying to campus in this manner.

[OOC: There is wee ocd coming ready!!]

She nodded. "So, I have to ask, um. You said you could...tell? Just now? With the....?" She gestured quickly from her forehead to his. She wasn't using exact terms, just in case he hadn't meant that after all and she was just going to come across as crazy.

"Part of my Jedi training," Zayne said, sounding proud that he was able to tell. "It's tough to get into a Jedi's mind."

"No one's ever been able to tell," she said quietly, looking amazed. "Um, do me a favor and don't tell anyone I can do that?"

"Of course," Zayne said. "Going ahead and telling people's secrets would be a horrible way to start making friends here. Just don't use it for anything bad, okay?"

"Oh, no, I wouldn't ever. I mean, I don't even like being able to do it," she assured him. "People think I'm crazy back home." She paused. "I'm Sookie, by the way."

"I didn't think you would. You don't seem the type," Zayne said. "I'm Zayne. It's very nice to meet you."

"Back atcha," she said, smiling a little nervously. "I'll try to keep out of your head in the future, Zayne."

"I wouldn't mind it every once in a while," Zayne said. "I need practice to make sure I'm keeping my defenses up."

"I'll see what I can do," she said with a giggle. "Can you do it, too? Or just tell that I am?"

"Well, I could in theory," Zayne said. "I'm better at reading emotions, but I'm not even all that good at that. That's another thing I need to work on."
