BWI Airport, Portalocity Port, Saturday Morning

Spirit's ride to the island had been settled and Adora was trying very hard not to be nervous while she waited for the Fandom transport to arrive. Looking out the airport window, Adora realized she'd never seen so many fleets of vehicles in all her life that weren't involved in some sort of insurrection, and found herself desperately hoping her mother was right about this Earth place being safe from the Horde.

Just the thought of her family calmed Adora and she instinctively reached to touch the Sword of Protection where it was hidden by her hair and clothing, feeling that no matter where she was, she always had a way to contact the people she loved.

Now if only she knew for sure that this room marked "Fandom High" was really where she needed to be. Adora paced the large space as she waited, thinking she couldn't possibly be the only new student journeying to campus in this manner.

Deadpool cracked an eye open to look at her. "Are you going to rip on the outfit too? Because I think it's stylish."

"It's kind of a good look for you?" Dinah said, feeling this was weak, but really, it was pretty intimidating, so hey, points for taking control of the situation through fashion. "I just, um. I'm wondering if you're beating up ninjas in a back alley later." And hearing this come out of her mouth, she facepalmed.

Dinah stared at him, sure this was a test. What Would Barbara Do? she thought. Then completely disregarded what she knew Barbara would do, and nodded solemnly. "Sure. They totally welshed on that poker game from last Thursday."

Okay. So. The bus driver was either totally messing with her. Or totally nuts. The problem was, Dinah was kind of hoping for the second one, and knew that she was probably doomed to disappointment. Plus it would be Bad, right? Because if the bus driver were nuts, what was the school like?

No, no way she would get that lucky.

"Then you are dressed totally appropriately and I am not commenting on it, except I'd like to know where you got the spandex later, just in case, if that's okay."

"Really?" Dinah squinted at his outfit, and blinked. Okay, so, totally nuts. Guys who weren't nuts thought they were too cool to talk about clothes.

Awesome!

"Hunh! Custom-made, right? Because no way do they get the waist right if you just order it from some shop... and that's way personal and I should shut up now, totally."

"Whaaa?!" Dinah gaped, then snapped her jaw shut, trying to look innocent. Failing, oh, failing, it was to laugh. "Me? I couldn't.. noooo. Ha ha! You, you are a riot, Mr. Bus Driver. Sir. Ahem. Me. Superhero. Hee!" Rather weakly, she added, "What was your name again?"

"X-men?" Dinah asked, then mentally headdesked. Somewhere, Helena was getting the urge to dope-smack her for asking the question. "And, um. Thank you?" Maybe if he thought she was cute and harmless, he wouldn't sell her name to the tabloids?
