BWI Airport, Portalocity Port, Saturday Morning

Spirit's ride to the island had been settled and Adora was trying very hard not to be nervous while she waited for the Fandom transport to arrive. Looking out the airport window, Adora realized she'd never seen so many fleets of vehicles in all her life that weren't involved in some sort of insurrection, and found herself desperately hoping her mother was right about this Earth place being safe from the Horde.

Just the thought of her family calmed Adora and she instinctively reached to touch the Sword of Protection where it was hidden by her hair and clothing, feeling that no matter where she was, she always had a way to contact the people she loved.

Now if only she knew for sure that this room marked "Fandom High" was really where she needed to be. Adora paced the large space as she waited, thinking she couldn't possibly be the only new student journeying to campus in this manner.

"...is your brother a lil--" He made a hand motion that was some sort of bizarre code for 'gay' but looked more like he was trying to kill an invisible bunny. "Don't ask, don't tell?"

"No, he's just a prude. Which is worse, if you ask me," Emmett said. He leaned up against the seat to look at the steering wheel and all the nifty bus thingamajigs that cars don't have. "Can I drive? I can drive real good, dude, I swear. We'll get there in no time."

"...will you get us in a fiery wreck that leaves some crippled and others dead and me in so much trouble with the Principal?"

"No way, dude. If anything, we'll end up in the bay," Emmett joked. "Who doesn't like swimming?"

"Well, since you asked so nicely..." A beat. "Wait, no. I have to be responsible with the lives of those in my care and not carelessly allow them to fall into danger. Or something like that."

"Psh, dude, that's boring," Emmett said, pouting slightly. "Can I be in charge of the music? Or can I give the announcements about life jackets and the exits and our seats doubling as flotation devices?"

Wait. Did buses do that?

Deadpool had no clue.

"...the seats do that?"

"Uh..." Emmett bounced in his seat a couple of times lightly (he didn't want to break it, after all). "I think we'd be better off swimming."

"It's a lil' cold for that," Deadpool replied slowly. "Unless you're big on that Polar Bear club thing."

"I'm definitely into bears," Emmett said, smiling to himself. He had polar bear on vacation once. It was delicious. "I don't like clubbing them though."

No, breaking their neck was easier.

"I don't wanna question that, do I?"

"Probably not."

"Hey, dude, can I ask you a question?" No, he wasn't going to wait for an answer. "Are you a ninja?"

"No, I'm a teacher." A beat. "Who just happens to also be a mercenary."

"Ever kill a dude?" he asked, looking excited.

"Well, that was my job..."

"What was the coolest way you've ever killed a dude?" Emmett asked. "Did you ever rip off somebody's head?"

Because he had. Only way you could really kill a vampire.

"Well, no, that would involve more strength than I have," Deadpool replied sadly. "I can break a neck, though! And I have swords for the decapitation."

"Cooooooool!" Emmett said excitedly. "I had a couple of swords but I kept breaking my brother's stuff and my mom took them away."

Mostly because he was breaking Edward's stuff on purpose. Nobody needed that much pottery.

"Didja break his Clay Aiken CDs?"

"Jesus, I wish," Emmett said, groaning. "It'd save me and my family a lot of pain."

"You could always replace it with CDs of good music." A beat. "Like... what is it that kids are so fond of these days?"

"Uh, Kanye West?" Emmett suggested.

Deadpool might have mumbled something about Daft Punk being better, but that was neither here nor there. "There you go!"

"Can we put on some rap?" Emmett asked. "Oh! Oh! No, let's have a sing-a-long! TV theme songs!"

"Only of we sing the theme from Maude!"
