BWI Airport, Portalocity Port, Saturday Morning

Spirit's ride to the island had been settled and Adora was trying very hard not to be nervous while she waited for the Fandom transport to arrive. Looking out the airport window, Adora realized she'd never seen so many fleets of vehicles in all her life that weren't involved in some sort of insurrection, and found herself desperately hoping her mother was right about this Earth place being safe from the Horde.

Just the thought of her family calmed Adora and she instinctively reached to touch the Sword of Protection where it was hidden by her hair and clothing, feeling that no matter where she was, she always had a way to contact the people she loved.

Now if only she knew for sure that this room marked "Fandom High" was really where she needed to be. Adora paced the large space as she waited, thinking she couldn't possibly be the only new student journeying to campus in this manner.

"You're like my friend Bo!" Adora enthused. "He always says he needs nothing but Arrow and his bow on any journey."

"I also have some spare clothes," Zayne admitted. "So I guess he roughs it a little more than I do."

"There's a lot of camping out in the Whispering Woods when you're a Rebel," Adora informed him, wondering if other campers were attacked as frequently as her friends. "Do you do a lot of camping as well?"

"Not really," Zayne said. "It was part of my training, but the planet where I spend most of my time is really just a giant city, so it doesn't come up too often."

"Training? What sort of training?" Adora asked curiously, wondering if he, too had been trained to fight in a place like the Fright Zone.

"I'm in training to become a Jedi Knight," Zayne said proudly. "It's a kind of warrior monk group devoted to keeping peace across the galaxy. And if I don't accidentally cause any major problems here, I might actually become one someday."

She understood 'warriors' and 'peace' and decided that this Zayne boy may be a good ally. "That sounds like a group worthy of working to join, Zayne."

"Thanks. I just hope they'll take me when the time comes," Zayne said with a little shrug. "You mentioned that you were a rebel. What are you rebelling against?"

"Most of my planet is under Horde occupation and I'm with the Great Rebellion fighting against the Horde." No need to mention she'd only started fighting for the good side a couple of months ago.

"I'm sorry to hear that," Zayne said. "But at least your rebellion is Great. It's much better than having an Okay Rebellion."

Adora blinked, unsure what Zayne meant by that. "Yes. It's a very Great Rebellion. Queen Angella is taking care of things while I'm away."

"Sorry, that was kind of a joke. I'm a little nervous about this whole school thing," Zayne said. "It's a lot different than the way I've been taught up until now."

Aww. "As am I. I've never really attended a real school before. Just tutors and training until now."

"Pretty much the same here. I've had the same teacher for years now, and each of my classmates has their own, too," Zayne said.

"Wow. It's so nice to know I'm not the only one coming from that sort of background. Who knows, maybe we'll even end up having a class together!" If she thought positively, good things were just bound to happen.

"That would be really nice," Zayne said. "It would definitely make things easier for me. I'm the first Jedi to ever come to this planet. It's a little less stressful knowing that there's at least one person out there who kind of knows where I'm coming from."

Timelines were going to be confusing Zayne a lot today. Poor kid had no way of knowing it, either.

Adora smiled, feeling happy in the thought that she'd made a friend with a similar (if not incidentally evil) background to herself. "You'll be a great first Jedi on Earth. I just know it."

Zayne wasn't so sure about that, but he smiled back. "Thank you. That means a lot. I really appreciate it."
