BWI Airport, Portalocity Port, Saturday Morning

Spirit's ride to the island had been settled and Adora was trying very hard not to be nervous while she waited for the Fandom transport to arrive. Looking out the airport window, Adora realized she'd never seen so many fleets of vehicles in all her life that weren't involved in some sort of insurrection, and found herself desperately hoping her mother was right about this Earth place being safe from the Horde.

Just the thought of her family calmed Adora and she instinctively reached to touch the Sword of Protection where it was hidden by her hair and clothing, feeling that no matter where she was, she always had a way to contact the people she loved.

Now if only she knew for sure that this room marked "Fandom High" was really where she needed to be. Adora paced the large space as she waited, thinking she couldn't possibly be the only new student journeying to campus in this manner.

"How dibble would that have been?" Claudia replied. "No. Found it at a thrift store. You?"

Okay, he had no idea what dibble meant but he was gonna go with it.

"My brother bought it for me," Emmett said. Jasper had such good taste. "I've sort of got a collection of trucker hats."

Claudia was totally jealous of that collection. "Most of my hats are coming in the mail," she said. "I could only fit a few things in my bags."

Which were freaking huge bags. Just sayin'.

"Oh yeah, I've got a ton more coming in the mail. Not so much clothes but more electronic stuff," Emmett said. "Can't live without my video games, just sayin'."

"Art supplies, for me," Claudia said. "Where are you coming from?"

"Forks, Washington. I won't get insulted if you never heard of it. No one else has either," Emmett said with a grin. "What about you?"

"Stoneybrook, Connecticut," she replied. "No one's ever heard of it, either."

"Nope, can't say I have," Emmett admitted. Strange, considering how long he had been around. "So what brings you here? To the school, I mean. I know what brought you to the airport."

"I was flunking out of the last high school," Claudia replied with a shrug. "It happens."

Emmett nodded in agreement. He's flunked out of school five or six times. Mostly during the 60's. "That's too bad. Some things are more important than school."

"Like art," Claudia said. "And really good parties."
