Physics, Monday, Class #15, Period 4

The class had been handwavily contacted to meet Sam outside for the final class, so hopefully they were appropriately dressed for the weather and the proceedings.

"Hello, everyone," Sam greeted them cheerfully from where she was standing next to a table covered with lots of pumpkins of approximately the same size and weight. "Congratulations, you've almost made it through the class. All you have to do today is explain your pumpkin chucker design, what principles of physics you relied on primarily, and then, well, chuck your pumpkin. Whomever wins gets the J,GoB pie of their choice."

She paused. "No, I'm not baking it, calm down. No reason to sabotage this." After she'd cleared her throat, she continued, "I'd also like to thank you for being such an attentive class, and a pleasure to teach. I know the material has sometimes been dense, but I'm very proud of the effort you've put in and home that, at some point, something you've learned here will be useful."

"They're really heavy. You could give it a try, but the chucker could throw them even further. It's," he tried to explain. "You know catapults? Like the ones that throw rocks really really far and blow things up?"

"Whoa, dude," Kevin said, holding his hands up to stop Friday from trying to explain further. "I'll just take your word for everything here, okay? Just help me out with some of these words," he gestured at the paper, "and I'll be fine."

His head always started to hurt when things felt like they might get technical.

"You know you're putting the fate of your grade in my hands," Friday noted.

That got a laugh. "Better your hands than mine, man. And I'm serious, I'll make it up to you. Just let me know what I can do."

"We'll come up with something," Friday promised. "Just got to get through this first, yeah?"

"Oh, right. Sure. I'll just, um, stand over here and wait for my cue or... whatever." Kevin would just be glad when this class was over and done.

"If you get stuck, just look at me and I'll cover for you, okay?"

Kevin nodded, pretty sure Friday was going to end up explaining the whole thing. "If nothing else, I'll stand next to the thing," he added. Because, logically, it will be better because he is near it.

The pumpkin chucker, while normally dull and wooden, was now looking good. Kevin's superpower of attraction worked amazingly to make it look impressive. At least Friday thought so anyway. He started telling the class about the project, but stumbled over his words a few times when he glanced at Kevin.
