Library [Saturday]

After a quick trip to the Perk for her day's caffeine supply, Mac made her way down to open the library for the day.

There was a piece of mistletoe in the doorway that she was eying dubiously. You think she's in any way forgotten the ones that haunted everyone last year? God no.

A head, a very not ginger head, appeared in the doorway and looked around before the rest of the head's body followed. Both head and body belonged to the Doctor and was very well dressed in his usual suit and hi tops. Hands in pockets, he did a big circle of looking around and, not seeing anyone in particular, he called out. "Hello? Anyone home? Well, not home, unless you live here, in case it would be home, wouldn't it?"

"It's not my home," Mac told him, making her way out from the depths of the stacks somewhere. "Can I help you?" she asked, with a polite smile of greeting.

"I'm looking for a book," the Doctor replied quickly.

"Then I can definitely help," Mac said brightly. "It's what I'm here for, after all."

"Would I then be right in assuming that you're Mac? As in good ol' Mac of the library every Saturday?"

Mac's smile got a little bit wider. "Right," she confirmed with a nod. "That's me."

She paused a moment, "So, you'd be The Doctor, of the radio every Saturday?" she checked.

He grinned. "One and the same! Thought I'd drop in, say hello, see who I was talking about every week. You're not as tall as you sound on the radio."

"The squirrels write me tall notes?" Mac said, looking amused. "I should thank them. I always wanted a couple of extra inches on that."

"I think they like you. From the descriptive notes, I would have thought you were at least 6 feet tall!"

"I'll take them rum sometime," she decided. "And maybe suggest they stick at about five nine."

Jack had read all the text out of his truck pr0nz, just look at that Kenworth sitting like that, the hussy! trucking magazines, and was looking to see if the new ones had arrived.

"Hi!" he waved. Plant in the doorway? What plant in the doorway?

Mac tugged her headphones off, hopping down from the stepstool she'd been using to wipe the higher shelves.

"Jack," she greeted. "Hey. Little less caffeinated today?"

"The sugar didn't help either," he said, ducking his head a bit and rubbing the back of his head. "Sorry about that. Got a bit carried away."

"S'okay." Mac shrugged as she made her way over. "Happens to all of us. You looking for something?"

"I was checking to see if there were any truck magazines I haven't read yet," he said with a grin. "Do you have movies here? TV Shows, I mean? There's this one where they take a guy's semi tractor and customize it with TVs everywhere and a cool paint job. It's a great show!"

Considering that TVs in Jack's era were big clunky things, this was a big deal.

Mac nodded turning to point him in the direction. "Over that side," she said. "Pretty sure you'll find what you're looking for. Or, something like it, at least."

"...You really like trucks that much?" Boys were sometimes odd. Not that there was anything much better about obsessing over computers, but that was her thing, which made it a-okay by her.

"Oh..." Mac couldn't help but feel like that was lacking in aspiration somewhat, but wasn't quite antisocial enough to voice that thought.

There's a salad sandwich being eaten here, which she probably won't share.

Library's open to other aides and the librarian.

Christmas shopping makes me wish it was legal to carry swords. Well, legal for me. Not for the crazy people who aren't me.

A nerf gun doesn't have quite the same effect when it comes to keeping people at a three foot radius.
