Phys Ed: Week 12, Period 2 (Fri. 12/5)

The floor of the Danger Shop gymnasium was covered with thick, blue mats. To one side, students might notice a bucket of blue rags and a bucket of short, bantos rods with hand guards.

"Today we're playing Capture the Flag," Ronon's booming voice echoed in the empty room. "The goal's to grab the other guy's flag." He paused, smiling a little at the memory of Sheppard learning the game and failing fiercely at it. "No penalties. Nothing off limits. Once someone grabs the flag a new round starts. After every round, the level of difficulty’s increased. It’s to simulate battle since after every encounter there’s the possibility of injury. Round two's one-handed. Round three's one handed and one-legged." He doubted anyone here would get to round four.

Ronon bent and picked up a stick, smirking mightily. "Any questions? Comments?"

Violently. Anyone who wants a Ronon for a partner, say so in your comment. Otherwise, pair up and hit each other with sticks.

Jamie was now suited up and had his flag and banto rod at the ready as he looked around for another partner.

"Hey, no fair," Sokka told him. "It's supposed to be one-on-one."

"Well I'm one now. At the moment," Jamie said trying to look innocent. "You just can't hit me."

"Hit me. I want to win."

Sokka had been INTENDING to try to swipe the flag without hitting Jamie at all, but he just couldn't resist swinging his stick as hard as he could at Jamie's head.

"OW!" "OW!"

Both Jamies glared at Sokka.

Nevermind they asked to be hit.

"This means war!" They cried out in unison and went after Sokka.

Sokka shoved his flag down the front of his pants and crouched low, ready to tackle whichever Jamie came after him first.

Funny enough both Jamies weren't really going to take turns. One was taking his banto stick and aiming for the legs while the other was going for the torso.

Sokka dove between the two sticks, rolled once, and popped to his feet a little disoriented and facing the wrong direction. "HA!" he told Jamie. "Who da man?"

And that would be one Jamie trying to bomp Sokka on the hand while the other one was trying to get in Sokka's pants.

Sokka DEFINITELY was having second thoughts about sticking the flag there.

And then he was slumping to the floor, semi-conscious, with an aching head.

She had a flag. She had a stick. Ino was way too excited about this as she waited for a partner.

Sanctioned violence! Ino was a fan.

Okay, this was one of those exercises, like dodgeball, that just had "You will DIE today, Francine" written all over it. Which is not to say she wasn't here. She was just cringing. And not actually touching a flag yet.

Robin simply was not a violent frog. He may be the least threatening potential partner there.

He was, however, a very small frog. Francine blinked worriedly down at him. "If I fell on you, I'd squish you!"

[And I am made of icepick-through-the-brain fail tonight, so sadly I must hide under the covers where the light does not live, and catch back up tomorrow.]

"I had a dinosaur step on me last year. I think I'll be fine."

"A dinosaur stepped on you?" Francine repeated, and it was a measure of how quickly you could adapt to this place that she was freaking out not about the talking frog or even that there'd been a dinosaur, but that said dinosaur had stepped on the talking frog. "How are you not --" She wave her hands descriptively. "Kerrsmooshed?"

Robin pushed on his stomach. "I'm kinda squishy." he said. "Also the ground was soft so I was okay."

Francine made a face and repeated the gesture on herself. "I'm kinda squishy too," she said wryly, then reached for a flag, "but I don't think I'd like to get squished. I'll try to do better than the dinosaur at not-kersmooshing."

Firekeeper had a flag, and a stick.

Blind Seer had... a flag. He didn't so much need a stick.

Both were looking for a partner.

This was...not quite the way Turtle was used to playing, especially since her version of playing usually involved trying to bribe the other team to tell her where their flag was, which involved far less sticks.

She hoped whoever snagged her as a partner didn't hit too hard.
