History in Living Colour - Friday, Period 3 (Week 13)

The town of Tombstone looked a heck of a lot like it was straight out of a Western. The buildings lined Main Street, the central point of the town being the saloon. Horses were tied up at several points along the street, minding their own business. The one noticeable thing that differed from the other simulations the class had been through was that there were no people. This time, the class would populate the town.

Welcome to Arizona circa 1881.

Joan had no idea what an Undertaker was supposed to do, so she sat on a barrell on the street and watched what was going on around her.

Anemone was perched on the stairs of the jail, kicking her feet against the steps idly.

She'd pinned an hand-made 'sheriff' badge on Gulliver, just for fun, and now they sat watching the traffic on the street. Totally supervising everyone. Yup.

Alice was twirling her gun in her hand, stopping short as she saw the too-familiar badge.

"Evening," she said stiffly, narrowing her eyes.

"Hey," Anemone said, waving slightly. "Or, um howdy?" She looked to Gulliver for confirmation, but he just burbled. "Sorry, never been a westerner before."

Robin tipped his hat to her as he passed by. "Sheriff."

Anemone grinned and tipped her own hat at him. "Frog," she drawled, trying not to laugh.

Sam was walking up and down the streets of the town, looking quite prepared to pray for the weak. Or was it prey on the weak? When it came to most preachers, he was pretty sure there wasn't a difference.

Peyton who always seemed to end up inadvertantly dealing with demons and dopplegangers smiled at him. She wasn't terribly impressed with her cowgirl outfit, but hey, what could you do right?

"Howdy, partner," she said cheesily.

"Howdy, little lady," Sam replied with a smirk. "That's a nice get-up you've got there."

"What do you say Preacher?" Meg asked. "Should we head over to the saloon and preach on the evils of liquor and loose women?"

"I think we need to make sure that we're without sin first," Sam replied with an amused look. "You haven't been imbibing, have you?"

"Heaven's no," she replied. "That's the devil's way."

Taking the liberty of untying a horse, Amber climbed up and reins in hand, clicked her tongue to cheek, and started trotting along at an easy canter, having far too much fun.

As she was supposed to be a travelling saleswoman, Liz moved through the town with a few different items as she looked for anyone interested in buying.

Robin sat perched on the railing of a porch, leaning against the post, his cowboy hat set down low over his eyes as he lazily strummed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5ds9NSJmkA&feature=related) his guitar.
