Introductory Superhuman Physics, Period 4 [11-25]
"Abandon all hope," Jean-Paul said somewhat gleefully. "Science cannot help you now. But we are going to make it try." He moved to the board and began writing as he spoke: "'An object at rest will stay at rest until acted on by an outside force.' Roll tape." The projector whirred to life, showing what seemed to be an instructional cartoon where a woman pointed at a box and it moved. "Telekinesis," a woman's pleasantly bland voice proclaimed, "is the ability to move an object with one's mind."
Jean-Paul erased the law of physics he'd just written on the board and wrote instead, in huge letters, 'HOW?'
"Telepaths," the voice continued, this time showing two cartoon people with little dashes between their heads, "can communicate with others using only their thoughts." Jean-Paul pointed again at the 'HOW?' on the board. Then he hit stop on the video and said, "You should know the routine by now. Pairs, discussion, et cetera."

Re: Discuss
It was... probably the best he could do. He was getting over that cold he'd gotten over the weekend.
[Also, I'm leaving for work right away.]

Of course, that made her a little paranoid now, so she was sitting at her desk being very quiet. (Not that this was new exactly. At least in class.)
Re: Discuss
"It's not fun, thinking of people in your head, huh?" he offered.

Mostly because of the people he grew up around.

"Maybe for you," she (oh so grudgingly) conceded. "None of this crap -- the superpowers and all that jazz -- exists in my world, so 'scuse me if that idea doesn't go down so well."

Re: Discuss
"Hmmmm. In my world, all powers and monsters and stuff are because of exposure to the white light and or to Him's black particles. I'm guessing that the answers anywhere else aren't that easy?"
