Phys Ed: Week 11, Period 2 (Fri. 11/21)

This week, there was no gymnasium in the Danger Shop; just an alien pier overlooking blue water and a clear sky. On the floor of the pier were large rectangular spans of green with a single tee and a full bucket of golf balls. Off to the side were golf bags filled with all the clubs students could possibly need.

"Today, we're golfing," Ronon announced. More accurately, they were driving golf balls. He picked up a club and stepped up to a green patch where a ball was teed an ready to go. "Just swing and hit the ball. The goal's to go farther than everybody else." Ronon proceeded to demonstrate, swinging the club with one hand and sending the ball flying out into the ocean. "Questions?"

Jamie was having fun with this. He was really getting into it. He was being the ball. Nahnahnahnahnahnahnahnahnah. Freeze gopher.

Oh, like Firekeeper had any idea at all that Ronon's golf form was... less than proper. So she hit the ball with the stick. And watched it fly out into the water.

"Seems like a waste of these balls to me, if all they're going to do is end up in the ocean," she remarked to Blind Seer, who was lying off to the side with his head in his paws, watching in amusement.

Ino did not care what the point of this was, no. She didn't even care if there wasn't a point at all. He'd said she could hit things and that, in hitting things, the further it went the better.

She was good with that.

And was smashing those balls out over the water.

Helen managed to hit her balls quite a decent distance.

Eve had surprisingly decent form. Not that she was very good at it, honestly, until she started putting a little telekinesis into it.

Hannibal had only played putt putt golf before but that didn't stop him from taking a few mighty whacks at each golf ball in front of him.

They didn't always go straight but they went pretty far.

Friday was quite good at this, once he actually started thinking about hitting the ball instead of swinging wildly.

Francine was not the most coordinated human being ever. Still, there was a great wide ocean to smack balls in the direction of, so as long as she didn't accidentally whing the club backwards into somebody walking behind her, or hit herself in the head, she was counting this as a win.

And kind of having fun.

WHACK!

Lion-o hit the ball, but his small frame really lacked the power to send it very far.

This was golfing? It was more fun than he'd thought it would be. He hit the balls a good long distance. Well for him anyway. Once he stopped missing.

Turtle was...obviously not a golfer.

But she still tried, and, eventually, she just might hit one straight and long.

Sokka hit a few balls as hard as he possibly could, but unfortunately they went only an average distance. He certainly wasn't going to win this ball-measuring contest just on sheer length, so it was obviously time to change the rules of the game.

He experimented with different ways of swinging the club, getting his balls to loop and corkscrew out over the water. Awwww, yeah. MAD SKILLZ.

As Rodney had only ever played mini-golf before, his drives left something to be desired. He understood the physics of it, but getting his body to follow the proper form was something else entirely.

Dick set up and started hitting those balls like a pro. Yes, golf lessons were part of his training. It was important for business.
