Care for Magical Creatures; Period One. [ 11/10 ]

Today was a very exciting day for the class, indeed, as today was the day that their eggs were going to hatch! The danger shop classroom was stocked to the teeth with anything at all that might need to be available, from things to feed the little creatures with to weapons just in case they do end up quite hostile to flame retardant cloaks and squeaky little chew toys!

"Good morning, class!" Minsc greeted them. "Please go and care for your egg until they hatch and be prepared for whatever may come out! I have no better idea than you, so today should be a very interesting class! Be prepared for anything, as such is the way with magical creatures!"

Aravis, tender parent that she was, was sort of gently petting her egg mostly because she was too scared to cuddle it or anything, lest it hatch all over her.

And, okay, maybe she was singing a little song to it. Shhh.

Whatever she was doing, it seemed to be working, because it wasn't long at all that the egg started to gentle rock back and forth. There was a knocking sound, soft but increasing in strength, on the side. Finally, a crack appeared; it started to get bigger, opening up, and, before whatever was inside could completely emerge, small green snakes started slithering out from the opening, hissing up a storm.

"Oooh." Aravis drew her hand back, scooting away with wide eyes.

It wasn't that she disliked snakes. She just...hadn't thought there would be any.

It looked like Lady Aravis was getting one of those few wildcards of creatures not specifically covered in class, so Minsc offered a little bit of help, tossing her way a pair of very dark sunglasses.

"Might come in handy," he hinted, as the snakes seemed to give way to a human-like cry from inside, little tiny hands trying to pull pieces of the egg away.

Aravis didn't need to be told twice, and quickly shoved the sunglasses over her face, backing up further.

Of course hers would be something horrifying.

More of the shell dropped away to reveal what might as well be a little baby human if it weren't for the head of snakes for hair and, you know, the gaze that would one day turn people into stone. Thankfully, her powers were far from full now and, as she cried, the snakes moved about her to try to calm her down.

Aravis, having not been versed in these sorts of things, stared for a moment at the weebitty...thing.

"...hello," she said tentatively, eyeing the snakes warily before reaching a hand out tentatively to her.

In a collective swarm, the snakes pulled back away from the hand, hissing, but the girl seemed to find this all very funny and started to giggle. The snakes seemed to become very wary at this, eying Aravis' hand tentatively.
