Detention [Saturday, November 8th]

"Hello, kiddies," Robin said with a small smile. Today, detention was meeting in the Danger Shop, which was equipped with three bathtubs with attached hoses to start.

Robin, for her part, was surrounded by five dogs and holding a puppy. "Today, you're going to have a fun detention. Unless you're allergic to dogs or something. But whatever. Today, you get to take care of two dogs each. I'll assign them to you, so don't worry about picking out who gets the cutest or whatever; they're all adorable, and they all are very, very well-behaved."

And as each student came in, she crossed off names on the board, too:

Toby Moriatis
Cal Stephanides
Naomi Wildman

[I'm going out to lunch with my folks, and I'll be back around one, so you'll get your puppies then! ETA: now with a more extensive OOC note.]

Yes, you must bathe your squirmy, adorable dogs.

Toby filled a tub with warm soapy water and lifted Peanut to get him started. "You don't have much fur, so this'll go real quick," he promised.

"Don't drown him," Robin called from where she was supervising, as Peanut squirmed around. "He's very little."

"Your mommy is over protective, huh?" Toby whispered to Peanut while setting him down in the bubbly water.

Peanut, for his part, wriggled in the water and splashed a wee paw.

"Make sure his nails get clean!" Robin added helpfully.

Toby rolled his eyes at her comment. "You want to help?"

"Just making sure you do it right," Robin said sweetly as Peanut splashed happily.

"That's so helpful," Toby fake smiled at her.

"I try," she said simply as Peanut's tail lashed the water.

Toby worked to get the dog clean, not at all impressed by Peanut's splashing water on his bare chest in the process. "Now let's get our rinse on," he told the wee puppy.

Peanut was bored now so he leapt up a bit more and pawed at Toby, trying to get suds on him because that was something interesting to do.

"Don't get soap in his eyes," Robin scolded.

Cal took a moment to consider the two dogs. Sprinkles, he felt, might be trouble. If there was bouncing, Popcorn would be a cinch. He moved over to a tub, started to fill it up with water and soap and splashed his hand in it. "Look, Popcorn, look. Fun water to play in, come on, boy!"

Popcorn easily leapt in, splashing water everywhere in the process.

"Try to keep him from getting water everywhere," Robin commented belatedly. She was really helpful that way.

Yeah, fat chance.

"But it's the danger shop," Cal reasoned, trying to get a hold on the squirming, bouncing dog enough to lather him up. "What does it matter if it gets wet?"

Considering how carefully Cal was trying to prevent himself from getting wet (he regretted wearing a white shirt under his jacket, wisely removed), the statement was fairly ironic.

"Because you're trying to do it right regardless of where you are," she replied, shrugging as Popcorn happily wiggled around in the water.

Cal's nose wrinkled a little at that, since he was pretty sure that he was just trying to get it done and overwith, but whatever the crazy dog lady bartender said. He focused instead on how absolutely adorable Popcorn was as he tried his best to keep up with him. He held the hose over him to wash the suds off and looked toward Sprinkles.

"See how much fun Popcorn's having?" he asked him. "Don't you want to come over here and have fun, too?"

Sprinkles, actually, wanted to take a nap, and expressed this by actually lying down.

"Yeah, he does that," Robin commented, looking up from some important texting she was doing.

Cal, even though he knew it probably was a terrible idea, decided that Sprinkles was going to see how well he could nap with the hose trained on his head.

"You're upsetting him," Robin said calmly.

This was a bit of an understatement, since Sprinkles was frantically shaking his head and looking unhappy.

"He's the one choosing to take the bath from over there instead of here," Cal pointed out, but he did lower the hose, straying it a bit toward Popcorn who appreciated it more. He cocked his head toward the tub for Sprinkles. "Come on, get in, the water's fine, and I'll keep spraying you if you don't."

Naomi drew up a bath with warm water and soap and hoped that this wasn't going to be too difficult.

Looking at Dorito and Reeses, she said, "who wants a nice warm bath?" as she tried to guide them to hop in.

Neither of the dogs was budging, unfortunately. "They don't really like baths," Robin noted.

"I'm beginning to see that," Naomi said with a small smile, it looked like she was going to have to try another way. She went to pick up Reeses, figuring that she should probably try bathing the smaller dog first.

He wriggled, resisting, but he was only a wee dog so there wasn't much he could do.

"Careful," Robin said warningly, keeping an eye on them.

Naomi nodded, "I'll be careful," she said, keeping a firm but gentle grip on Reeses as she went to put him into the bath.
