Home Economics [Class 7] - Tuesday

"Today is our last day of cooking," Lulu began, "before we get into the other half of the class. I may revisit the topic later -- there is one specific cooking topic I wanted to cover that I've not yet done -- but for the most part, next week we'll be into clothing and textiles.

"Which means," Lulu said, "that today you have your midterm. You have all the materials you could possibly need, and various recipe books. Have at, and cook something. Anything. Your midterm grade will be dependant on both the complexity of the dish you decide to make, and how well it is executed."

Chris decided to try his hand at his mother's brownie recipe.

They turned out surprisingly well... though obviously not as good as Piper's.

If Francine could have been here in mask and cloak - or spent the rest of her life in mask and cloak - after Homecoming weekend, she would have. Since that wasn't an option, and neither was missing classes to keep hiding in her room, she was here, mask-free.

And hiding behind a rather large mixing bowl, while she made chocolate-covered cherry cookies. Lots and lots and lots of them.

Hoshi could have made soba noodles or teriyaki chicken, but that wouldn't have been much of a challenge. So instead, she made a chocolate marshmallow cake (http://southernfood.about.com/od/chocolatecakes/r/bl30223c.htm). The frosting came out a little too thick so it took longer than she expected, but otherwise the cake was perfect.

Harry was hungry when class started. Harry was starving by the time class ended.

He'd decided to try out a chicken soup recipe. He was inspired by his roomie's bout of nasty flu over the weekend.

It wasn't the most flavorful soup out there, and the noodles were kind of mushy, but it was definitely edible.

Sam tried to make chicken pot pie. It didn't go terribly well, and he made a huge mess.

Hoshi was there, with her data PADD of extra recipes. She was willing to help out anyone who needed an extra pair of hands.
