The day after homecoming (*cough* and any post-Homecoming or during Homecoming things that are still being slow played *cough*) found Angelus in the journalism classroom. He'd taken over a few desks and chairs, moving them so that he could sit in one chair with a mug of warm blood on a desk beside him, his feet raised and propped up on a desk in front of him, and a laptop cradled in his lap.

He typed away at his article.

Anyone watching him would notice two things:

1) He was still disturbingly cheerful, albeit focused on his work

2) He was dressed in black jeans, a black long-sleeved, form-fitting T-shirt, black shoes, and a pair of black-rimmed eyeglasses.

It was possible for people to interrupt him if they cared to.

"Okay," Angelus said, obligingly. "Get me a cup of coffee."

Who? Oh. Angelus. "No." She didn't quite smirk on her way to grab a cup for herself. "That was easy enough. Try something harder than hostessing next time."

"You said you needed to work on it," Angelus said, typing away. "Figured I'd start you out with something easy."

Settling in at a desk with her Flexis and a laptop, Beka cocked her head, bemused. "You're unusually pleasant today. Dare I ask the reason?"

"An evil vampire can't be in a good mood?"

"Sure you can. Even a nasty-tempered futuristic gunbunny can be in a good mood." Beka offered a self-satisfied smile and opened a file to type up some notes:

Seen (Together) at Homecoming

- Cam and Vala, what happened to Kara?
- Lee, what happened to Veronica?
- Angelus and Lisa, what's going on there?

She looked up from her screen and grinned at him, shrugging. "Just curious whether the specific causes are the same as to our good moods."

Angelus took a swallow from his mug, grimacing as the blood had gone down to room temperature. His eyes spied Beka's notes. "I'm making headlines now? And I'm third?"

Beka noticed the grimace. "That's probably even worse than cold coffee, huh? First, third, your sex life is always fascinating." Then more softly to herself she adds. "A little too fascinating sometimes."

"I don't know how Angel copes with it," Angelus said. "No, I do, he's a whiny moping loser who prefers it cold because that way he can pretend it absolves him of all his evil evil ways. His views on sex are very similar, which is why he'd never even make it to third... on any variation of that meaning."

"Nothing inherently evil about drinking blood, Angelus," she said reasonably enough. "As for Angel, I don't think we've met. If you say he's not worth fucking, I'll take your word for it. But if you want more coverage in my column, you're going to have to dish the dirt."

"He's not worth knowing," Angelus saved what he'd been working on so far. "Which flies in the face of a good deal of public opinion, but I know him better than anyone. And I don't know what dirt you're talking about. Lisa and I had a wonderful night of school-sponsored activity and fun that anyone's parents could approve of."

"If he turns up, I'll be sure to check him out thoroughly and see if he can be fixed steer well-clear." Beka arched an eyebrow. "I see. So the line about you should read, 'Angelus put to rest all rumors of his evil evil playboy ways at the dance the other evening by behaving like an innocent schoolboy with date Lisa Cuddy'?"

In fact, Beka typed almost exactly that.

"Can you add in something about how I also spared a moment to read to the blind?"

"No." She smirked. "This is a relationship column, oh soulless one. Getting trickier, though." His charitable act made her think of the debates and how he'd played so well at concerned and wounded. And how he'd left her utterly, surprisingly, alone, even though he'd laid into Phoebe. "Mind if I ask you something more serious, or shall I wait 'til you're in a worse mood?"

"Depends on the question," Angelus pointed out. "But you already know I dress left so not sure what else would be on your agenda."

At that, Beka broke and laughed. She shook her head. "An Angelus. You're a hard vampire to dislike."

"Everyone loves me," Angelus winked at her. "It's my cross to bear."

(OOC: Beka fully intends to come share gossip etc with Faith for the weekly column. She figures what she can't use, Faith can, and vice versa. Partners in mischief? *grins* Oh, and Chiana and Beka are forming a smutting, drinking, mischief-making (and occasional non-school thieving) club. Interested?)
