Phys Ed: Week 6, Period 2 (Fri. 10/10)

Meeting in the Danger Shop, the class would possibly be surprised by old, sketchy bowling alley before them. Lucky for students, the concessions (while completely not real due to Danger Shopness) were open and free to all.

"Today you bowl. I've been told this is a time-honored Earth tradition involving beer, one-on-one combat, and broken fingers. For non-Earthlings, it's easy enough. Pick up the ball and toss it down the lane hitting all the pins." As Ronon spoke, he demonstrated, failing to use the finger holes in the ball as he sent it barreling down the lane, managing a strike for his trouble. "You break a finger, see Hannibal. No hitting people with the bowling ball unless it's necessary." He was kidding, sort of, but he said nothing about not hitting people with pins.

"Dress out and meet on the lanes."

She flushed a bit, but laughed more. "Oooops! I misunderstood! 'Least I don't mind being the staring sort of target!"

"You don't have quite as much to stare at," Francine said with a grin. "...Not that I was staring."

"If you were, I'm not complaining, though I'd rather boys did it, yeah?" she said easily. "But, seriously, I'm sure some people would stare your way too."

"That's what I'm afraid of!" Francine stood up and tugged the back of her t-shirt down.

Ino contemplated that.

...yeah, she didn't get it.

"Why?"

"'Cause it's kind of..." Francine flailed a little. "Out there."

She shrugged.

"Just be confident, no matter what," Ino advised. "That's the most important thing rather than how you match up to other girls."

"Sure!" Francine said brightly. While feeling like maybe she should introduce herself again because Ino must mean that other Francine Peters. "I get that." In theory.

"No, seriously," Ino insisted. "If you act confident, you feel more confident, and after a while you become more confident."

Sort of. She was, naturally, a lot more confident than she thought Francine was, but hey, she still faked it sometimes.

Blind cave mice were a lot more confident than Francine was. But if Ino could fake it until it was true... "Hunh. Maybe I'll give it a try."
