History in Living Colour - Friday, Period 3 (Week 6)

Upon entering the Danger Shop, the students were greeted with a door and a whiteboard. The messy writing, all in capital letters, read

'GO THROUGH THE DOOR ALONE OR IN PAIRS. MAKE FRIENDS. DON'T GET KILLED. WHEN THE PROGRAM FREEZES, YOU CAN LEAVE.

THE DOCTOR'

The Doctor wasn't present, but chances were he was around somewhere.

Dick walked through the door and checked the new landscape out.

Dick didn't know much Japanese, but he managed to say, "Konnichiwa," to the man.

He stopped and eyed Dick, then turned and continued towards the house without a word. Friendly guy.

If the man knew he was being followed, he didn't acknowledge it. He pushed the door aside and went inside with his bucket. The door was left open.

Well, Dick had gotten this far without issue. He might as well follow the man into the house. Cautiously. He didn't want to end up finding out the guy was a psycho killer or something the hard way.

The man was standing on the other side of the open plan house with a samurai sword. He didn't make a move, but he did try to stare Dick down.

Dick bowed politely. "/I am sorry. Forgive my.../" Dick didn't know the Japanese word for 'intrusion.' "/... duck?/ No, that's not right," he told himself. "/Sorry./"

"/You do not belong here,/" the man, a samurai (or Supers fan) if his sword was any indication, said calmly. His Japanese was a few hundred years off modern Japanese. "/Who sent you?/"
