Abby Irene had been working most of the evening in the Danger Shop and so her hair was a little bit out of sorts as the students walked in. Smiling, she straightened it with her hand before looking over the assembled.

"It seems that you young ladies and gentleman have proven to be unable to conduct yourselves properly in an academic setting. Thankfully, we are not living in my day and age and have been provided this lovely educational tool with which to perhaps correct as opposed to simply punishing such behavior."

"You will be attending a small party from my own world and it will be your duty to act as fits the circumstances."

"A fine evening, though it would be a better one without certain elements," he said and it was obvious that he wasn't talking about John. His eyes were on Duke Richard.

"A realist," he said with a soft snort.

"The Crown looks after the Crown's concerns," he said, "and the New World is should be able to do the same."

He smiled faintly, glad to have found a compatriot.

"As he is an agent of the Crown, I should say not. Normally, I wouldn't speak such thoughts to a stranger, but you looked a man of logic and consideration."

"Well..." Hey, it never hurt to be friendly with people who were complimentary, right? John puffed out his chest a bit. "I try my best to make sense out of what I see."
